Jon's said "Our Apostle", with the logo looking like Aeropostle.

Tents-yes if you press agaisnt them (no not just touch them, press agaisnt enough to stretch the fabric a little) they will leak. I bet Kate or one of the girls was pressed up agaisnt the side of the tent.

Loved the episode. Wish it was an hr one llike the last few.

Did anyone else notice Kate's plug for the V-tech gaming system? It really sounded almost like a commercial, it was so blatant. The episode on the whole was cute, but that made me roll my eyes.

We backyard camped when the kids were small. They loved it. Now, we go real camping and they love it even more. I am not a camping/nature lover but it really is a bonding experience and we have so much fun. I tolerate the sleeping outdoors and sharing a bathroom with an entire campground to get the family fun.

Since, neither Kate nor Jon have a job to go to in the morning, I wondered why they didn't just wait for a clear night to campout. Camping in the rain is the WORST!

ITA... I found it annoying, but that was probably the agreement they had with V-tech. I don't have a probelm wiht product placement, but no I don't like it when it sounds like a comercial script.

I got the idea that the date of the campout was set by the TLC crew, which made me feel sad. Otherwise, why not postpone it?

Yeah, the V-TEch thing was the ultimate in "product placement". But I think Kate has been pretty outspoken on the evils of plopping kids in front of a video, so she did need to go on and on about it being educational.

Me too - it was the one part of the show I didn't like. I understand the product placement - alot of shows are doing it. But I don't want to hear a sales pitch also.

I got the impression that the V-tech thing was intended as a mini-commercial. She said different things that were very advertise-y in the portion during the commercials than she did during the actual episode when she was saying how they were playing it because it was raining out.

And next week's episode - so they are going to a show and backstage, but what is it that Kate was sqealing about and made job so happy he actually kissed her on the mouth during the interview? Anyone have a episode summary for next week?

I was wondering about this too. I wonder if it will be Jon planning their renewal of vows in Hawaii and maybe that's when he told her.?????

I checked the summary and they are going to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster. All of the shows are Biblical in nature.

I have a feeling (and should make a few heads explode) that Kate got paid to do the 15-second commercial for V-Tech and the subsequent placement. Why would she want a free product that she doesn't normally use?

I wonder how many viewers watch the show, since it seems that more and more advertisers are willing to place products. It must be lucrative.

I thought last night's episode was fun. I can't imagine why TLC made them camp out in the rain. You would think that if they film 24/7, it wouldn't matter if they moved the filming to the next night. :confused3

That was what I was thinking as well. That would help to set it up for next season, because isn't the vow renewal supposed to be the premiere for the new season?

Ok - so did anyone notice the t-shirt Kate was wearing during the interview portions? What was on it? It looked to me like a big head that had a piece of tape across it's mouth. I find myself looking for these little signs that indicate Jon and Kate are aware of all of this internet talk about them; am wondering if the t-shirt was some type of response. (or am I just reading too much into it?)

you all think I'm obsessive with the details?! :lmao: :rotfl:

I think you might be reading to much into it. But you might not be. Who knows?!

Anyone,, notice the little sign on the light on the outside of their garage???!!!!!!!!!

it didn't make my head explode. (although I have no doubt, when the GWoP come back from their break that THEY will have plenty to say over it) More than anything, it made me  It didn't bother me at all, though. BUT. It was direct advertising. There was a kate voice-over commercial, followed by a V-tech spot, and then the product placement. Have we seen anything like that to this point? A direct Gosselin product endorsement?

I think you're right. The TLC promos seemed a little flashier, more recognizable brands, etc.

ditto.

The cameras were not close enough to it to read it, the words were blurred.

Seriously? Was there a sign? I thought you guys were just busting my chops because I noticed the shirt. (btw, madge - a pp posted a link as to what the shirt said.) I think Jon & Kate are completely trying to get a message across in what they wear in those interviews. I think it's their form of rebuttal.

My first thought last night with seeing next week's previews was that Jon surprises Kate with the vows in Hawaii thing. Kate can be so dramatic though her huge reaction could have been a number of things. :lmao:
