Pardon the interruption. I know I'm not a regular poster, but I know a little about the school people are talking about. It's not a church school, and it has a tuition of around $18,000 a year for those who do not qualify for tuition assistance.

$18,000.00 x 8 = $144,000.00 yearly!!!!! How will they ever be able to afford that?

I remember someone saying that Kate wasn't sure last spring what she was going to do about kindergarten with the tups and then suddenly they got tuition assistant or scholarship or something. I just took it as Kate whined and got suddenly got what she wanted for her kids.

While I don't put much credence in anything she says, she is now also saying that she sent an email to Kate while she was working for Jon

I don't believe her either. She has a weird smirk on her face during the whole interview... Sometimes when people lie, it shows all over their face. She is milking this for all its worth, and it's unfortunate! Shows her (lack of) character.

It is going to be a lot of mony no matter how you look at it but, at my DD's old private school it was X amount for child one, little discount for child 2, another discount for kids 3 and 4 and over 4 were free.

I never understood that, actually. It costs something to educate a child--at least charge that cost. We were not affiliated with a church so there was no help from that.

I have not seen Kate or heard many reports of her acting very grateful even on her own show. For example, the solar lights guy and as recently as the last episode with the organization ladies. I saw the clip on Talk Soup, while it was funny, she was not especially grateful or gracious.

That certainly is a LOT of money.. If they can't afford it, I guess they'll just have to look into other options - just like anyone else who can't afford their first choice..

ETA: ok, I just got into the school website -- not feeling good about posting the website, so you can look it up for yourselves. However, I did find out that tuition was due on July 1st, and you only save $50 per child versus paying in 12 pre-authorized payments.

like you, I wouldn't post the name of the school here .. but, I have to say, I knew what it was before they started showing bus pics.

I didn't see any mention of a sibling discount, either.

I have not seen Kate or heard many reports of her acting very grateful even on her own show. For example, the solar lights guy and as recently as the last episode with the organization ladies. I saw the clip on Talk Soup, while it was funny, she was not especially grateful or gracious.

My family worked with the solar panel guy when he was on This Old House and they did our house. My parents would attest that they thought him to be a blithering idiot. Can't say I blame KAte's reaction to him at all.

He was highly annoying in their eyes. Of course my step-dad was a horse's behind, so that may explain it.

According to Wiki, the twins didn't change schools when they moved but I'm not sure how accurate that site is.

I remember reading over a year ago that the tuition for the twins was being paid for by someone else. I have no idea if that is still the case or not.

Of course she couldn't possible have been doing what many of us do..looking at the cost and trying to make a fair decision. I have no idea if they got a scholarship or assistance, but you better beleive I always filled out everything I could so my kids tuition (college and private school) could be lowered. If someone qualifies (for whatever reason), they should.
I have always seen where K & J get things paid for when they were taping, isn't that to be expected? Just like all the other reality families out there doing placements and gathering money while their families work? I can't beleive none of you think Kate worked hard to get what she did for her kids financially. It's terrible that it turned out this way, but I think it would have even if they went on welfare..only sooner. It almost sounds like..well like some people are jealous (general people, not refering to who I quoted). Almost sounds like if you (general you) couldn't get it free, she shouldn't either LOL. I'm jealous of those who pay way less than I do on groceries, by shopping around, and using coupons. I'm too busy (and lazy LOL) to do the same, but I don't begrudge you. You work for the discount, you get it. Good for you!

One ice cream meltdown, one gum incident, and one comment about helping babies (and of course we didn't like how she talked to her husband LOL). Then, even if she does nice things, it just doesn't matter. Only the bad can be remembered. Yep, that's what did her in. It doesn't matter what she does now. Not a lot of forgiveness in this world nowadays

I wouldn't want to be her.

If that's the tuition for 8 kids, someone else is paying it. There is no way Kate would payout $144,000 for school. As she would say, her kids are entitled to go to school and she pays taxes and shouldn't have to pay tuition. If she paid that tuition every talk show in the country would of heard about it over and over again.

In regards to Kate renewing her RN license, if you remember on the organization show recently, and the women was showing her the gift wrap center she created thinking Kate would like it and Kate responded "I don't have time to Oh and Ah" how could she possibly have time to renew her license??

I don't think there is a single person on this thread who is jealous of what Kate has. What good is it to live in a mansion when your alone. How can you enjoy family outings with your kids and spouse when your in the middle of a divorce. How would you like to be on every scandel magazine ever published week after week. No, I don't think anyone is jealous of this!

I understand what you're saying.

And I agree, as a general rule, society is pretty brutal these days. People (generally speaking) expect the worst.

And while I believe Kate didn't do much to help her image, TLC and their edits are what caused people to form their opinions in the first place. She was edited as the heavy, Jon even alludes to that in his interviews. TLC created a character in Kate that people loved to hate.

With that said, Kate Gosselin yelled at a church volunteer in a parking lot because he couldn't get her out of there fast enough. That doesn't really give me warm fuzzies. LOL.

ITA! If I was the sponsor of these shows who did the organization, green episode, kitchen remodeling, crooked houses, etc....I would go take my products back. Grateful, not a chance. Every appearance she has made comments follow how hard she is to work with, demanding, could it be all these people are liars??

$18,000 a year for 3 day pre-kindergarten?! I highly doubt that and if that is true, that's completely crazy. Even $18,000 for elementary school is ALOT. My cousin went to a ritzy private high school and it was $15,000 a year for grades 9th-12th, less for 1st thru 8th, which I think was $10,500. Still not cheap by any means, but I can't imagine it's $18,000 per Gosselin.
