I am wondering...as silly as this may sound...but do you all think Kate was deep in thought about everything in her troubled life when this "water" incident was going on....:confused3 Like she was listening to Mady BUT not....:confused3 Here she is waiting to do an interview, everyone is in place, kiddos look adorable and NO Jon....

I mean do you think she was possibly preoccupied by what questions she was going to be asked..etc AND yet J&K are going through these troubling times...so her mind is just working overtime and when we are see Mady asking PLEASE for water....Kate is hearing nothing....??? :confused3

That is possible.

I think Mady was being dramatic and don't blame Kate for having them wait or else they all would have wanted one. However, the considerate thing to do would have been for Kate to wait also.

It seems I am the only one of this opinion, but the water thing seemed like ALL the kids were begging for drinks... not necessarily because they were "thirsty" but just because. If Kate had given the older girl a "drink" it would have evolved into taking a who-knows-how-long break for them all to drink, then go to the bathroom, etc. A break was coming up for drinks, etc. anyway, according to Kate's conversation with the crew. And, she was going to give the twin a sip - but they were back on air.

I just don't see this as the earth-shattering,Kate is a mean mom thing others seem to - but that's jmo.

she had plenty of time to take a drink for herself, though... didn't she?

These photos remind me of the early days of Princess Diana. The photographers took pictures of her standing in the direct sunlight wearing a light colored skirt/ or was it a dress. Then, there were photos of the off the shoulder dress Princess Di wore. The photog took pictures from an upper level looking down at her instead of a straight shot photo.

ETA: I wish she wore capris and a top that held the girls in instead.

That whole water thing didn't seem like a big deal to me. I've seen elsewhere where they are claiming "Kate denies water to daughter" :rotfl2: Any dramatic line to make Kate look bad.

She was about to be interviewed, probably after doing at least one prior. I'm sure Mady was far from dehydration. She looked to me like she was just having a bad day. Kate was about to give her a sip and was told that they were about to go on. What's the big deal?

big deal? in the grand scheme of things? no. Insensitive? absolutely. Kate could (should, IMO) have given Mady a drink first.

but that wouldn't create nearly as much attention ...

your right :rotfl2: Come to think of it, that dress wouldn't look good on Jon either.

Thanks DIS viewers for keeping those who won't watch the show in the loop. I appreciate it.

If this is truly a reality show, wouldn't giving Mady a drink be part of the reality? What would it have hurt?

Also, to the pp who stated Kate was worried about Mady spilling on her clothes--it was water. How much damage would water have done except get her a little wet and since this is a reality show . . .

Why do they "live" in their front yard? They did this at the old house too. Go in the back yard for gosh sakes. 'Round here, if you want company, you sit in the front yard (or porch), but you do your livin' in the back yard! So weird to me. If they don't want to be photographed, just go behind your HUGE house!

Because if you live in the backyard, you don't get photographed and then people will forget about you. Then Kate won't be in the papers and magazines and on the internet and of course she needs to be because she is soooooo important!

These kids are just so starved for attention from their mother. Usually Momma bear protects the cubs except in this case of this Momma bear. She looks out for herself and only herself. Remember if she didn't have these 8 little cubs their would be no show. It won't be long before TLC runs out of ideas to keep this farce going. I don't think Jon was visiting the lawyer just to say Hi!!!

I used to think it was kind of cute. But now? What "normal" family goes to Charm City Cakes and makes birthday cakes? How many families get to have Emeril over? How many have had Paul Sr. and company come over? None. Maybe one celebrity visit a season would be fine for me, but now it's just like watching the Hills or something like that. It's really turning me off. I'm waiting to see who's going to be on the next episode, Oprah? Martha Stewart?

If that is the case, then I understand, but Kate should not have taken a drink in front of them. That was mean. I would never drink in front of my kids while they were are complaining that they were thirsty, That is just wrong. And if a break was coming then she could have waited also. She is just nasty IMHO.

But "the show must go on" - and as long as Kate got to have her drink of water, it's all "good"..

local PA blogger .. he's blogged about the Gosselins before ...

Darn police officer.. Obviously just another person trying to have their "15 minutes of fame"..:rolleyes1

I was going to say that, but I thought I would look like a Kate lover LOL. Of course I'm not Mady's biggest fan...she can be sweet but oh, she's so dramatic LOL.

They already went to the Oprah show once....;)

He actually spoke about some facts in the area. That part was interesting. I wish they would go after the paparazzi for causing all the traffic jams.

But C.ann, since you mention he's a police office and you live in the same area as me, should I er, respect him more if he is a police office getting his 15 minutes? While I know and respect many policeman (including my own childrens Godfather who is a retired police captain), I happen to think this policeman was out of line talking like he did. Of course he could say anything, since he was anonymous.
Others (other than c.ann and anyone else that lived in my county) would not know that many of our police offices (including our chief and his wife and step son) have spent and are spending time in jail, for all their many crimes against society while wearing a police officers hat and gun). 15 minutes is 15 minutes, no matter who it is. Anonymous counts for even less.

By the way, their police officer seems to use the same language (I won't bother posting the F word he used) talking about someone that ours do, er did. Yep, that would make me respect them. I think it's just wonderful (not) that people would think a police officer saying they were scamming churhes is acceptable, without due process (so if they are scamming, why isn't that police office doing something about it. Oh..that little thing called proof. It's also so easy to quote someone that wants to remain anonymous.
I thought this was priceless, that this policeman would say this about his governor..oh, that's right, it was anonymous. Brave person, that anonymous, not to be named policeman.
Governor Rendell and The Gosselins are basically partners in crime in my opinion.

And I would like to know where he got this from? I'd like to lok at these past criminal cases LOL.
So, mothers of children speaking in a church have been convicted because churches invited them and either paid them or took love offerings (I'm not talking about people who have come in and pretended to be financial advisors, I"m talking about people who have come for talks, invited)? Boy, some people can say anything as if it was fact.
Yes, just look at past criminal cases and people have been convicted of the same thing on a smaller scale.

Nope - not saying that at all.. We could also lump the clergy into the groups you're describing as well - couldn't we?

It's just interesting to read this thread and see which people are accused of having their "15 minutes of fame" and which ones aren't.. Right up there with who is "credible" and who isn't.. It seems that in some cases people just can't make up their minds..:)

Yes, we could include many clergy.

If you mean me as to who is credible and who isn't, I've thought just about all I've heard from are going for their 15 minutes of fame, or money. There are very few who have posted in rag mags or on line that I have thought were doing so for the good of the children. I've had no problem making up my mind on who has acted credible and who hasn't. But just because someone is a policeman, or governor or clergy doesn't mean I find them credible..and even less so if they are anonymous. That darn 15 minutes shines out there so easily, IMO.
