I know I'm a few pages behind (God forbid I have to come home and cook dinner and play with my kids! ) but WTH is going on?? I caught the end of Prime News tonight on Headline News and the quote on tv was "Octomom says Kate "has issues"". I guess these two (Kate and Ocotmom) are going back and forth in the tabloids???? What's the scoop???

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black??

I remember seeing the interview on Dr. Phil, I didn't get the impression that Kate was badgering or critisizing Octomom, it was more like Kate was mentioning how much work it was to care for the kids.

The show was done in Feburary, was Octomom just saying something now because of the trouble Kate is having? It is a potshot, pure and simple.

Isn't her belly button in the wrong place? Mine isn't in the middle of my stomach! Is this what happens when you have a tummy tuck?

I would say their is a big difference in having your playtime filmed by a small camera crew to 'playing' in a public viewing arena with scores of tourists walking past staring at you.

Okay, we'll agree to disagree then! As always, I do think everyone on this thread has interesting points of view and good info to back it up. So that works for me.

The thing about the Dionne sisters playtime being viewed, (from what I've read), is that they were viewed through a one-way window -- so they couldn't see the tourists, but the tourists could see them -- similar to how the Gosselins are being viewed, they can't really see their viewers, other than the few cameramen.

I just think it would creep me out -- be I Dionne, Gosselin, or Miles -- to know, as an adult, that I had been watched by so many people as a child -- not really aware that hundreds of thousands of people were viewing me. That alone would probably send me into therapy! Not to mention the family problems that seem to come with this media circus.

Well, time will tell whether this is a good thing or a bad thing for these kids. I'm sure there will be publishers waiting with baited breath to publish one of the kid's tell-all books.

In the meantime, I'm a total hypocrite because I think the show is bad for this family, but I'm still watching!

Well I noticed Kate's "body guard" in the background while she was doing the book signing.

You know I have been lurking here and have wondered if I should post my views. First off I am a fan of the show, and have enjoyed imensley watching the children grow from infants, to toddlers, to now kinders.
I find it interesting how now that Jon has been accused of having an affair people think that they are exploiting the kids. Why didn't people feel this way before? Especially Aunt Jody, I wonder if this is her way of getting back at Kate for not wanting to pay her for being on the show. (for the record Jody should have been) Why are the worries of child labor laws coming to light now and not 4 seasons ago?
Kate stated that she tried to work with the issues they had for months, how could she if she is away from home the majority of the month! I truly hate her excuse of having to earn a living for her children, and that she is doing this for them. I honestly think Kate is the one doing it for fame. Her ego is out of control and she needs to wake up and see what SHE has done to her marriage and her family. Jon on the other hand, needs to grow up(as well as Kate) and realize whether or not he wanted to have 6 more he has them, and although I don't doubt he loves them, he needs to start stepping up and doing what Kate had done pretty much on her own for the last 4 years or so.
I think the thing that bugs me the most is Kate's excuse of the fact that parents of multiples have a higher divorce rate. Stress of multiples have nothing to do with this, the lack of consideration for each other, and the lack of communication is what killed their marriage.

No but I work in television.
Think about it. They were only there to do one episode on this family. So they had to film establishing shots.

With J&K, they are familiar with the house, are just shooting what is going on, have a few cameras to get different angles. They don't have to set up lights inside since they have the special lighting. They also probably have everything down to a science.

The show Wife Swap they say it is over a period of two weeks, but I believe it is really only 3 days.

Besides the kids saying "Coming up on Jon & Kate Plus 8" and answering a few questions, it is not as scripted as other reality shows. Just compare the way it is filmed to Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

Everyone keeps saying that Kate looks so great in her bikini and I agree but I really don't think she should be wearing it. I can still see where her stomach was big, is it just me. It looks like she has a smile on her stomach. I know I am being picky but she is wearing a suit for the world to see and even though she looks good she is still not that great in her stomach. Just my thought on the subject.

I think what you are talking about is the scar from her tummy tuck.
For a tummy tuck the scar is pretty large across the hip area.

To me her belly looks like a c-section belly. I have had 3 c-sections & have a smiley face on me, 2 eyes=the girls, nose= belly button, smile= c-section scar. Her scar does seem a little large but look at the pics of her belly pregnant, it was stretched a little more than any of us can imagine. I think that is just her battle scars (as I call them) from being pregnant.

As far as not smiling, if she doesn't smile - she's miserable; if she were to smile - people would say "she's always smiling, what is she on". I don't smile all the time, just walking down the beach, it would look a little crazy. Also, these photographers take probably 50 shots to get the "one". I went to college to become a photographer and I know how many it takes to get the perfect shot, be it good or bad.

there were concerns expressed about exploitation last year. this isn't new.

Jon took the teacher WITH him to Utah?! The film crew was there?! And, Kate knows about this?!

They (US mag) confirmed on Kates bd that Jon was in Utah with Deanna,
The host were saying if Kate does know about it now, she will write a book about it.

He is gross. If he just wanted out of the show and out of the marriage, but to disgrace his kids, I have no compassion no matter how Kate was.
He picked her, his priority is being there for the kids.

It is just gross. She must be not caring about her students or job. Jon must be the sugar daddy keeping her with his kids fame...

Octuplet mother Nadya Suleman slams Kate Gosselin in a new video posted on RadarOnline.com.

"She needs to stop being so judgmental and stop pulling at straws for attention," a visibly annoyed Suleman says after watching an interview Gosselin gave on The Dr. Phil Show last February.

Suleman rolls her eyes while accusing Gosselin of being "desperate for attention" and "over-emotional.

"My children are extremely healthy, strong and happy. Don't you have, like, a lot of issues in your life? A lot of marital problems?" she sneers. Us Weekly has reported Jon Gosselin had an affair with a 23-year-old teacher. He was also nervous about Kate's "inseparable" relationship with her bodyguard.

"Why are you so desperate to glob on to my life? For attention?" continues Suleman, who plans to shoot a reality show documenting life with her 14 kids.

I read Jon's birthday is four days after Kates. I don't know if this is true or not?? Maybe that's why the trip to Utah fell when it did?? Do we know when he left? I'm not trying to defend him - just thinking maybe it was a four day trip but got moved to a five day trip and that first day was Kate's birthday?? They could have used Charm City Cakes for BOTH birthdays and just had one big celebration (since everyone else in the house shares a birthday with someone!)

He had to empty his 401k to survive. Now, I don't know if that means that he had to use it to pay the bills or buy his kids food, but the fact that he felt he had to use it, is telling.

I think Kate looks ok in the bathing suit. Her belly button is up way to high and her tops of her legs look a bit big. But do I think she is better looking than some of the others that I have seen on a beach. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly think she wants to be photographed now and likes all of the attention!!!!!!!!!!!
