I think it was easy to tell last night that they were there longer than 3 hours. On the episode where Jon is home with the kids they were def. there longer than 3 hours IMO.

Also, Kate's birthday episode, it took 2 hours to get to Baltimore, so they were being taped longer than 2-3 hours that day also.

You are right. I was assuming they taped and stopped. I also assumed they did not tape the entire way to Baltimore, or while John was at the doctors, or on the ski slope.
I thought we were talking about the actual amount of time being taped. I figured it was an hour here, and hour there. I really don't know. A few movies have been taped in our area, but they usually tape parts and come back in the afternoon, etc. I thought they would do the same on this show, rather than have the camera's run for a 2 hour bus trip. Since they taped these shows in advance (not live), I also assumed each show is done in bits and pieces.

I think that is great for your friend that she feels comfortable with herself and if she wants to walk around naked in her own home or back yard that is great but I don't think she should be wearing a small 2 bikini out in public. I can not stand it when I go to the beach and there are all these huge people walking around in small bikini's. I don't care to see all of that and I am pretty sure most people don't want to see that either.

Anyway, that was not really my point on when I posted it. Kate does look great and I am happy for her. I think it is great that she has gone to the extra effort to look her best. I just think that she has some flaws and she is showing them off. That is all. I think she would have looked better in a tankini(SP?)

I'm not trying to be rude, but honestly it sounds like you're the one with the issues about this subject, not the ppl. that you don't think are appropriate enough to wear them. I don't get it, why do care so much about what other ppl. wear depending on how they look in it? Seems very odd to me. I personally could careless if someone who's overweight (obviously not Kate) wears a bikini or not; I'm their to have fun and enjoy my time, not nitpick ppl. I don't even know or let them somehow offend me by what they're wearing. It would be different if their private parts weren't covered or something, but I don't think that bikini's should only be allowed for ppl. who get some kind of pre-approval.

For the record, I myself haven't worn a bikini in about 5 years, but that's my choice; I'm not going to care if someone else chooses to or to not wear one.

I knew this was going to be taken the wrong way. It not big, but you can still see the flab, does that make sense? Yes she looks great for having 8 kids and a tummy tuck but I guess I feel like you should only wear a bikini if your body is close to perfect and there is still some flab. Can no one else see it? It seems very very clear to me. It kind of hangs over and there is nothing for it to hang over. I guess I feel like you should have a flat stomach to wear something like that. Just me.

I understand what you are saying. The fact is she doesn't have any abs. Meaning there is no muscle definition Which is what I feel that makes someone look good in their bikini. Hence I have never worn one!

I'm sorry, it's my opinion that Kate doesn't really look that great in that bikini. It seems a wee bit small, but that's just me. I felt a little uncomfortable looking, to be honest. I see nothing wrong with wearing a bikini, but those bottoms seemed too small. I don't know, whomever on here can say I'm envious or sour grapes or whatever, but that's the way I see it. Kate can do what she pleases, but I just feel like her bikini could be a little bit bigger. She does have EIGHT kids that she needs to be respectable around.

Also, she absolutely HAS had a breast augmentation. Again, who cares, it makes no difference, but for those of us who have speculated, I am of the opinion that those aren't all Kate!

When? She can't sneeze without one of us posting what kind of kleenix she used. Do you really think she could have checked into a hospital and Madge not know ? (cause you are our expert Madge LOL)

The doc told her to buy a better bra..maybe she did LOL! Maybe the bikini has a plastic wire lift like he told her to get LOL!

You thought the bottoms were too small? Do you go to a lot of beaches? The perfect bodies are often in thong suits, and little string bikini's. But we do all have opinions, and I think it looks great on her, and you don't, and as has been said, that's ok too.

For the person who asked who we thought tied it..I assume she tied it in front and then turned it around to the back.

I know you are not trying to be rude, just to let you know though, you kind of were. I was talking about someone who this board is about, and I was expressing my thought on the matter. I have been called names on here already and find it just silly. It seems that people take this way to seriously. I was not talking about the kids I was talking about the mother who by the way I have issue with and before anyone says anything I have issue with the dad also.

I don't let what other people wear bother me, acutally it gives me a good laugh. I know there are people who can not help their weight and I really feel for them, I have my own problems with the subject, I am not fat but I to struggle after having 3 kids. But why they think we all want to see their fat when I am sitting on the beach cracks me up. Once again it is like looking at a train wreck and not being able to look away. Do they think they look good. People on here keep getting mad because they say we are bashing Kate for trying to look good and I am not, but I don't think wearing something that looks bad on you is trying to look good, did I word that right?

I think that it is great that you don't let what other people wear bother you, really I don't either but it was being discussed and I thought I would discuss how I felt on the subject. That is all.

Going back to the hours being taped part. Even though the camera may not be on, I would still consisder it work while the crew is setting up, checking the lighting and stuff. Sure, the kids probably don't notice it but I still consider it for the show since it's not normal home time. But then, for the Gosselins, what is normal home time?

I think she has had her friends done also. You can have it done outpatient and the healing time is only a few days. The do look pretty great in that swimsuit and I really think they were done. I don't care either way, I have a lot of friends who have had it done, I would love to have mine lifted.

And Kate has said they shoot 2-3 hours a day two or three days a week, (which is 4 - 9 hours a week) so it sounds like they are saying the same thing. A little longer on the Duggers (and they have more than twice the family size, a little less on the Gosselins). No argument here. Prob depends what and where they are shooting. I don't see where there is a problem with the math, even if they shoot for part of the year, they can easily fit in 40 episodes (20 hours).

If it's 6 hours of filming (let's say) for one half hour episode, x 40 episodes this season; that equals 240 hours for the season. Right? I think that is conservative.

Does anybody know when the end of season 4 was taped? The one where at the end when they were talking about whether or not there would be a seaon 5 Jon said "we'll see." I'm wondering how much time there was between the taping of that and the taping of his apology and denial of cheating on Kate.

has this been answered yet?

the season 4 finale aired in late March. IIRC, they filmed the "where they are now" interview not long before the show aired.

If she was there why haven't any pictures surfaced? The tabloids were after Jon already at that point, you would have thought some picture would have been splashed everywhere with the headline "Jon parties with mistress while Kate is alone on her birthday" or something to that effect.

I hate to tell you but it is not up to you. There are so many pro Jon and Katers out there that it does not matter what we say or if we watch. For me it is like a train wreck that i can't turn away from. I know to say that is wrong but it is true. I will say I did not watch last night because I knew it was all bs and nothing new was really going to happen.

Yes, I do think she had one. I don't really care, I have a couple of friends who've had them, and to each their own. I don't know when she'd have had it done, but I just think she did. Maybe her ****s are naturally round and separated like that, but I doubt it. And that bathing suit top must have some serious support in it, if not.

Yes, I do think her bottoms are too small and yes I have been to plenty of beaches. I think a lot of the people there including men and women need to cover up. There's just some things, whether you feel good about it or not, that just needs to be covered up.

Kate needed to cover up a little bit more, JMHO. No one has to agree with it.

because she doesn't smile much..... at least she didn't for the 30 or so minutes she was out in front of people when I saw her speak. she's very low key in person.
