I also wanted to say that I saw the link to youtube of them and Emeril. I thought it was very cute. I thought the little flip oon his arm with the spatula was harmless and funny *bam* LOL, I thought it was cute that she got so tickled at her own joke. I didn't think it ticked Emeril off or anything. I think he seems like a great sport and she probably felt comfortable enough to joke around with him.
That was my take on that little scene and I know I have read much different here on the boards. So, it is true to say that we all can see the same things and see it very differently.

Also, so many of these links to articles are just so judgemental and presuming (or assuming, I don't know...) of Kate. While she is not perfect (who is?), she is very real and I like that about her. I think she is disrespectful of her DH and I find that very unladylike and unChristian too. She is not *great* to me. She is not a role model or who I'd look to as a perfect mother role model either. I just find her interesting because of the reality of them and how they interact. I also know several couples that they remind me of so it makes it that much more interesting to watch.

Us Weekly has reported that Jon lives in an apartment above the garage of their $1.1 million home, and had an affair with a 23-year-old. Short-tempered Kate -- who fired 40 staffers in three months -- has become "inseparable" from her bodyguard.

Us Weekly also reports that Jon saw his sextuplets as his "meal ticket" and Kate's former baby nurse confirms Kate talked to the McCaughey sextuplet family for advice on getting freebies.

I didn't think of that this time around. can you imagine your child seeing your photo and reading that???!!! Or one of their little friends (or "friends") repeating it to them?
That magazine should be very, very ashamed. Honestly, that type of thing should not be allowed. It is just wrong.

Just a question for everybody. Has Beth ever come out and said anything?? The last time I heard anything from Beth she was defending Kate and then a couple of days later it was like she dropped off the face of the earth.

There was a marked difference in the two birthday parties Jon and Kate Gosselin threw for their sextuplets this year, a new report notices. On May 10, the children’s 5th birthday, the celebration was somber. L&S has the details, "Kate was spotted with an angry expression on her face while picking up a meager-looking cake at a bakery near the family’s Reading, Pa., home early in the day. Few people were spotted coming and going from the house, and at the end of the day, just a few bits of wrapping paper lay in the trash."

Was anyone else creeped out by this bit??? It's like this reporter is stalking them or something. How else would they know that she picked up a "meager-looking cake" and had few people "coming and going from the house" and "just a few bits of wrapping paper in the trash". Did this "reporter" go through their trash to get that information? Creepy.

Anyway, I still have hope that J&K can weather this storm and find the love again. One thing I noticed during the season premiere previews I have seen is that Jon still refers to themselves as a couple. That gives me hope.

See, once again, Jon isn't doing it "just so" so Kate gets him a "bigger scraping surface" and Emeril says ,"Leave him alone." Then she ''smacks'' him with the spatula and says *bam* and Emeril says "Yeah, that was a *bam* all right!" LOL I just think it was such a cute scene. At least she smacked his arm, I'd have probably smacked his butt. And then been mortified that I did that!

I'm sure the paparazzi is stalking them. I'll bet they follow them wherever they go, have their house staked out, go through their trash, etc.

I was in a very serious car accident back in the 1990's and I was put in the same hospital, on the same floor as Christopher Reeve -- I got there shortly after he'd left. The nurses told me that they caught paparazzi dressed as doctors, sneaking in trying to get pics of him in his room and in treatment. They also dug through the hospital garbage -- the nurses thought they may have been looking for hospital records regarding him.

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your accident and hope you have fully recovered. Secondly, that is truly despicable. What lengths will those varmin go to to get a story and make money? It's disgusting.

My DH had a stay at the Mayo clinic in MN 2 years ago. After we came home he had to have another surgery and had it here. One of the doctors had done a fellowship at the Mayo clinic and was telling us how tight they had to have security there and how they had to watch for that type thing all the time. It was quite amazing to me, I had not realized what lengths the pap. will go to get thier stories/smut.
I can't imagine people going through my garbage or hiding in the bushes sneaking photos of my life. Definitely not a position I'd put myself in nor my family. I doubt most reality people go into it realizing how obsessed people can become. However, the more reality TV we have, they should all learn.

Monique, that is before pic. I believe someone said it was during her pregnancy. She clearly has dark color on her hair and a bad, shapeless short haircut. A most unflattering pic, for sure. Most likely a look Kate would like to forget. I'm thinking someday she'll regret the bird hairdo spiked up in the back too, but only time will tell on that one.

If I'm not mistaken, that was a picture of her shortly after the birth of the sextuplets. Back when she did her own hair nad make-up and didn't have a personal trainer. Also before she spent days like her childrens birthdays in a tanning salon. And before she decided to get the whacked out hair cut that is half redneck, half I'm preparing for an alien visit.

She still has that sour-puss," I'm trying to be perfect" look on her face though.

The only problem with that caption is that it implies that she was once a mom BEFORE she became a monster. And I'm betting she was always a monster, before becoming a mom, while becoming a mom, and all through motherhood.

Thanks! It was 14 years ago and I still have a bad knee -- but I'm lucky to be alive, so I'm not complaining AT ALL. It happened about 10 blocks from the University of Virginia Medical Center -- they scraped me off the pavement and it was a quick ride to medical help. My proximity to a hospital made a big difference in my outcome.

Ok, you all are going to get a kick out of this! I'm watching a re-run of J&K with my 3 girls (season 1) and TLC showed a clip of them at Charm City Cakes for the upcoming season. My oldest 2 LOVE Ace of Cakes. So they say "Mommy can we go to Charm City Cakes and make cakes like the Gosselins??" I told them no, we can't do that because Charm City Cakes doesn't allow people to just come in. Then they both said "why are the Gosselin kids allowed to then?" "Why can't we do it too?" "Why are they special?" Ah, out of the mouths of babes...

That's when you say, "they are on tv, so they get to do extra things". It's a simple and true explanation.

Ya know, I've thought about this alot tonight, especially the Charm City Cake thing. I've seen Duff and company host a wish kid before, in the sweetest and best of ways. Charm City isn't open to the public for obvious reasons. There really wasn't any good explanation for having the Gosslins there, other than they have a TV show. I hope Duff goes back to handling things the way he used to. I respect and think highly of his opening the bakery to Wish Kids. I don't think much of him hosting the Gosslin group.
Personally, I don't think it's particularly good (or emotionally healthy) for children to be getting lots of endless extraordinary special treatment just "because". (And I'm not just talking cakes here--I worry about the total "package" that is now these children's daily lives.) JMO--YMMV.

um thanks, I am late to watching this show, my DH is a tvaholic so he has watched it from the beginning. He says now that they have money the show isnt as "real" or entertaining. I am just starting to watch it honestly because of the tabloid news coverage. I am sure their ratings will be throgh the roof this season with veiwers like ne that have only seen a few episodes before.

I think the "before" picture was pretty soon after the tups were born.

I do want to know about the 40 staffers that were fired. I won't buy the magazine, but might spend some time reading it in the grocery store!

since Jon has been quoted (more or less) saying he doesn't really enjoy doing the show, or doesn't like what's happened as a result of the show ... and Kate has repeatedly insisted she has no intention of giving up what's she's doing, that she LOVES what she's doing ... I think that it's a pretty safe assumption to make.



1. they have earned a substantial amount of money in the last two years. hopefully, they haven't spent it all .. and could live off that while they get their acts together. Of course, It wouldn't be the same standard of living they've become accustomed to now.

2. many large families get by without a TV show, book deals, public speaking, etc.

3. just because Jon & Kate have been on television for a couple of years, that doesn't mean they're not exempt from getting "normal jobs". That's not to say that it wouldn't be difficult. I've never believed that they could drop the show and Kate could walk back into a hospital the next day and be a nurse again.

You are right, Kate has said that she likes what she is doing. Although many may not like what she is doing right now, she is still out getting paid to support her family.

So Jon has been unhappy with the show, which is his right and I understand. Has Jon now gotten a job to support his children?

We know that they have nannies, Jon is out at bars at 2:00 am.....so why hasn't Jon gotten a job??

I can complain about my house needing painting, I don't like my job, etc. But unless I go out and change it, it is not going to get done. You either do what needs to be done or you complain about it. Jon seems to be doing alot of complaing but not doing anything to fix it.

TMZ has Jon's high school yearbook photos posted. He was the captain of his soccer team, which his dad coached -- they were state champions -- and was voted "most friendly flirt."
