You know the show is edited right? I don't think you can diagnose anyone from watching them on television. LOL. Even if you had the qualifications to do so. Are you a psychologist or psychiatrist?
I just watched said video and saw no such look.
Funny how the critics often talk about how they have alienated everyone and they have no friends and family. Seemed like a lot of people at the birthday bash to me!
I went back and watched the video,
and I only commented on Jon.
Sometimes when couples fight, they can barely look at each other.
I just saw Jon take a look at Kate,
and when I watched it a 2nd time, I saw kate's "look" that she gave Jon.
But with editing, the look could of been for something totally different.
But it was sad to see Kate give Jon the look of "dismissiveness".
I saw them look at each other but I didn't see Jon looking at Kate with any type of loving look.
OhMari, I was not commenting on your post. I was commenting via Maxie's to sandramaac's quote about kate giving Jon a bad look.
My comment to you about Jon looking at Kate was up higher than my comment to Sandramaac via maxie's post about Kate. I understood you did not comment about Kate's look--only Jon's look when you said something about maybe him still being in love with her.

I actually didn't think it was a loving look from either one--but not hateful either, really.
I recently came across someone comparing Kate Gosselin to Madonna -- i.e. both came from poor backgrounds, are very tough and determined to achieve fame & fortune, they aren't letting anyone stand in their way and they don't care who they have to trample over to do it.
Do you think this is a good analogy? I thought it had its merits.
Nope, I don't think it is a good analogy. I do think often times people who come from nothing and have little when growing up have a lot of determination and drive. I think Kate seems like one of those type people. I have worked for someone like her. In fact, she also did not treat her DH well and they even divorced--but he cheated on her too. I am sure she is loving the money and fame and the the ability to give her kids stuff. Sooner or later one ususally learns that stuff given to their kids does not mean as much as they thought.
It is a general mistake that people in this country have been making for many years now.
Maybe they kept the May 10th celebration small as they knew there would be a bigger one that would be filmed. Why have 2 big ones? Besides May 10 is Mother's Day. Some of the kids friends may have been busy with their own families that day so they chose to have a small family celebration that day instead of the big party. Makes sense to me.
Well, Madonna's new boyfriend is 22. Madonna (51) is almost the same age as this youngster's granny (50).

Kate just might have enough problems already. A Madonna comparison seems like it's piling on.
In that case, the question could be
is Jon Gosselin the new Madonna?

Wow look at this new cover - "Mom to Monster"!!

Us Weekly has reported that Jon lives in an apartment above the garage of their $1.1 million home, and had an affair with a 23-year-old. Short-tempered Kate -- who fired 40 staffers in three months -- has become "inseparable" from her bodyguard.
Us Weekly also reports that Jon saw his sextuplets as his "meal ticket" and Kate's former baby nurse confirms Kate talked to the McCaughey sextuplet family for advice on getting freebies.
Am I alone in thinking this is getting ridiculously ugly
No, you are not alone. Kate looks so much better these days but it has little to do with her money. I would hate to think she stayed looking like the before all these years. Our looks need to evolve IMHO but hey, I'm a hairdresser so i like updated looks and change.

I also don't think I'd allow young kids to even watch this show. It isn't a kids show, really, and if it has this type of impact on your children, I'd just turn it off and not allow it. Your kids may secretly start worrying about their parent's marriage etc. Small kids can't understand reality TV as wel as adults can and even we seem to have a hard time with it. I'd probably TIVO/DVR this show from now on if my kids were up when it comes on. I think it is throughout the day also so I'd be on a lert for those shows also.
