that whole interview was sort of odd ...

Must say I totally agree with that!

A lot of men think that...but most are smart enough to keep it to themselves!! ;)

I can't believe all those ugly comments, I can't believe people are so hateful about a family.

Yeah...you'd think he would know better than to say something like that!

It's one thing to "pick" on friends....it's another to totally rip a family apart. I can't say I agree with every deicision or action I've seen (through the show) J&K take but I don't agree 100% with anyone on anything so it's ok. Yes I share my opinions and concerns and thoughts but ripping anyone apart is craziness...

agreed.

and good grief, the comments about the kids. those are the ones that really bother me :(

You have to wonder about the mental stability of those who devote that much hatred toward people they (probably) don't know, especially children. I hope these people don't have children of their own. :sad2:

and of they don't have children, it's even worse, in a way .. because these people make diagnosises (and that isn't really what I mean, but describes it better than the word that's apparently blocked from my vocabulary :headache:) about problems they think these kids have. And if they don't have kids, and they're making these sorts of assessments, what are they basing things on?

I hope that makes sense. I know what I'm trying to say, but I'm in the midst of serious writer's block. :confused3

:scared1:Holy cow! I just finished reading the comments on that blog with the Ladies Home Journal cover. Wow, I cannnot believe what some of those hateful people said! I'm still a bit in shock. How can they say those kinds of things when they don't even know the family?? That was waaaaaaaay over the top in my opinion. Wow, that's all I can say. Those people should be ashamed of themselves.:sad2::sad2:

Just have to say that my son works at a gas station on Interstate 95 and a month or so ago he pumped gas in the vehicle of Jon and Kate plus 8. He said that they were very nice and that the kids wanted to get out and play. The parents did tell them no, that they didn't need all of the attention because they were in a rush. They spoke with my son and were very pleasant. They also left him a nice tip. NO CAMERA CREWS THAT DAY!
Nice story to hear.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so tired of this family being picked apart and ridiculed! I wonder what they will find wrong with this story.
I was just going to point out, that I hoped he put in diesel, not gas. If it was their van it takes diesel. If he put gas in, they probably got down the road a mile and the van probably clunked out. We used to have a diesel truck and you wouldn't believe how many times I jumped out and grabbed the gas handle.

subscribing to the new thread and waiting for the next season.
Welcome to our thread. This is actually our 3rd thread.

Sorry, that just seems a little nit picky to me. She was having a grown up melt down it happens and I'm sure the child is not going to be ruined for life. Instead they will probably laugh at it later and make fun of Kate just like my kids laugh at me for flipping out over dead camera batteries.

ITA. It never would have ever dawned on me that someone would think Kate meant her actual child was ruined, from the comment. :confused3 Seems a pretty far stretch. To me it was very obvious what she was talking about, and you know I hate to say it, but I'd probably feel the same way if I was in that situation. I'm a little high-strung as well when it comes to Disney;)

No, I don't think she meant it but she still said it. If I said my child was ruined, I would hope that others would not think it was OK just because I was having a meltdown. I am far from a perfect mom. I have 5 kids and have made my share of mistakes. I also taught elementary school for many years and also made mistakes there. I've been angry and said things I regret but I don't defend those mistakes.

I have not been a Kate basher and in fact have praised her for many things. It is a hard task to raise multiples. I know how hard it was for me with twins and feeling like I got no sleep. I can imagine how difficult it is for her but I cannot defend saying "She's ruined." Making excuses for her behavior, because she was having a meltdown, does no good. If I called my child or a child in my classroom "worthless," (or any other name) I would expect to be called on it even if I was just having a bad day.

But, she didn't call her worthless:confused3:confused3 To me, calling a child worthless, and saying "she's ruined" in the situation that actually happened are very different. I highly doubt Alexis (I think it was her) is going to grow up thinking she's "ruined" or feeling offended about that particular day at all. Like I said, it was very obvious what Kate was talking about, and it wasn't her actual child.

Wow - I just read that blog and the comments. I agree that is a whole lot of hatred for people we don't really know. I occasionally watch the show and don't care for Kate's attitude, but I'm not going to spew such hateful comments. People need to get a grip!

I sort of wish they would stop doing the show. They could ease back into a more normal life of relative anonymity and start working on their marriage.

Does anyone know what the relationship now is like with Beth and Jody? It is a shame watching the old episodes where they both played a big part in the children's lives. The children really seemed to enjoy spending time there and have to wonder what happened to Aunt Jody and Beth. Plus I think the older girls were very close to Jody & Beth's older children........

no one knows what Jon & Kate's relationships are like with anyone .. not just Beth and Jodi.

They've mentioned there are some people in their lives who do not consent to being on camera. There are rumors about Beth and Jodi, but no one (at least here, anyway) knows for sure.

Ya, there are rumors but I don't know how accurate they are. Perhaps Beth and Jodi just didn't want to deal with cameras and exposure in their homes/lives. Nobody knows for sure. That one rumor makes me crazy about Aunt Jodi...that she started a blog (or her sister did I think) condemning Kate for exposing the children and so on. My only problem with this, if it is even true, is that it doesn't make much sense. Aunt Jodi always came across so sweet and laid back and seemed to have real affection for the Gosselin kids. Why on earth would she go online and cause strife and tension in their family if she did care about them. It just doesn't add up. Also, we don't know with absolute certainty that the Gosselins never see Aunt Jodi and Beth. Maybe it's just not on filming days or something. There will always be rumors so long as they're in the public eye. Personally, I couldn't handle that kind of garbage being said about me and my family but that's just me!

New Article:

Jon has a very strange quote about not getting married until he was 50-something to a 19 year old. Odd.

Just read the article and the comments. The article just seemed pretty standard fare, but the comments were just vicious :headache: Nasty nasty comments. Just shows what some people are really like, and it's not nice. Just their true characters showing through :sad2:

I feel the same way, if it was true and she did do that, I have to say I don't have a lot of respect for her. If she loves the kids so much, why would she disparage their parents, and her family?
I think someone posted on the last thread that it was unlikely for TLC to just suddenly decide to offer Aunt Jodi money (which seems to be the main rumour for the supposed fallout), as they or a family member works in TV and production companies don't do that. They felt it was more likely that Aunt Jodi may have wanted more $ and more input into filming. It made more sense to me than the initial rumour.

I guess I probably understand that "thinking" better from men who aren't parents.
Men who are the fathers of girls, though---The whole wishful, pining away to be a 50 year old with a teenager...yuck.

Trust me...it grosses me out too, but I even think men of daughters think that way alot of the time. My brother in law left his wife and is now dating a girl that is the same age as his daughter. I think that is the grossest thing ever!!!

Seriously.....its disturbing....

That's what bothers me about the whole Aunt Jodi thing.

I totally agree. It was VERY clear what Kate was talking about...she said "she's ruined" and it was obvious she meant her clothes. Come on, do you really think she's talking about her child as "ruined" in the sense of wrecked as a person? No, she was upset because Alexis had ice-cream all down her shirt. I can tell you from experience that is annoying to some people. Case in point....several years ago my DH, 3 little girls and I went to Colonial Williamsburg. I had the brilliant idea to give them all chocolate ice cream (turned out it was more like dark chocolate!:scared1:) and they made a ROYAL mess of themselves. It was the middle of summer, it was hot, humid we were all tired and the ice cream literally melted before our eyes! One daughter looked like she had bathed in it, it was such a mess and my DH flipped! He was so embarrassed because she looked so messy/sticky and we didn't have another change of clothes with us. Of course I immediately found this very funny (which didn't help!) and told him to chill out! We still laugh about it!:lmao: Who knows why people have meltdowns at certain times.

Another case in point, but first let me say that I'm normally VERY mellow. Takes a lot to get me ruffled. Anyhow, back to my case in point...we were in DC with my family and brothers and decided to eat at ESPN Zone for lunch. The wait time was 1 1/2 hours but if you know what ESPN Zone is, then you know we just played games till our table was ready. Well, we were all getting really hungry, particulary me. When they finally beeped us for our table, we followed the hostess to a dinky table that would sit 6 comfortably even though we were a party of 9!! I just lost it and started yelling at the poor hostess that we had waited nearly 2 hours for a table that we wouldn't even fit at! My family was all just standing there with their jaws open because I don't normally act that way! Boy did they make fun of me for that for years! So, we all have our meltdowns and I seriously don't think Kate's at Disney was all that unusual nor do I think she emotionally scarred her daughter. :goodvibes

Whatever Kate's faults may be, there is something much worse wrong with people that spend that much of their lives hating on someone.

Some people just hate for the sake of it, but others claim to do it under the guise of protecting the children. Please, tell me how bashing their parents helps the kids. If anyone feels these children are in harm's way, the need to call the proper authorities. If no one is willing to do that...then I call BS!!!

which blog -- the one with the LHJ article?

I'm not seeing it, if that's the blog you're talking about. All I see are references to BabyMama's blog. BabyMama is pretty much the Queen Sheeple, best as I can tell. LOL.
