Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 3

It's been said by Kate many times how thankful and blessed they are that all their kids are healthy.

I believe that Jon & Kate are very aware how lucky and thankful they are that the children have grown up without any significant health issues. Kate's a nurse. I'm sure she was running through every possible worst case scenario throughout the entire pregnancy.

IMO, there's a difference between saying the dress is ruined and saying she's ruined. Even in anger, I can never imagine saying one of my kids was ruined and, believe me, I've said many things I wish I could take back when raising my kids.

I know she says that and I am sure she is thankful. But when she says things like "She's ruined!" when the kids get ice cream on their clothes, her reaction speaks volumes.
That got me, too.

That woman needs to chill the hell out. The "She's ruined!" thing was just beyond the beyond. A little ice cream is not something to stress over, for God's sake.

It's a good thing those kids' dad is normal. They're going to need that. ::yes::

I do think Jon and Kate are thankful for their healthy children and realize the odds that were stacked against them. I don't think they always show it, not many of us do. I do think she is overly dramatic and way, way high strung. Why would she further stress herself (and Mady I would guess) out by choosing this career/lifetsyle? I don't think Kate is a neat freak; I think she is a control freak.

She has let her kids clean up dog poo, they both seem obsessed with poo, pee was left in the floor of the van until it was "an inch thick" and Jon had to scub it out, she dumped all the potty chairs in to one and emptied it only when she had to, she exposed other people to her sick kids, she left her old house a mess, let the kids suck on and drag around nasty rags, etc. I have never seen/heard her stressing hand washing during ALL the potty training talk or when they are called for meals. Many times the kids even had no TP close by. This is not what I consider a neat freak. Her WDW meltdown (one of many) over the clothes seemed like a control/perfection issue.

Dang it; I swore I'd never talk about potties and poops again.

Sorry, that just seems a little nit picky to me. She was having a grown up melt down it happens and I'm sure the child is not going to be ruined for life. Instead they will probably laugh at it later and make fun of Kate just like my kids laugh at me for flipping out over dead camera batteries.

Do you really think she meant that the child was ruined? I think that's really stretching it.

I can't tell on the internet. Are you being serious or facetious?

Yep, your youngest is seven...it probably has been a while since you talked the three Ps. DS3 has been potty trained for almost two years now, so we haven't had to talk too much about it in the last year.

Just have to say that my son works at a gas station on Interstate 95 and a month or so ago he pumped gas in the vehicle of Jon and Kate plus 8. He said that they were very nice and that the kids wanted to get out and play. The parents did tell them no, that they didn't need all of the attention because they were in a rush. They spoke with my son and were very pleasant. They also left him a nice tip. NO CAMERA CREWS THAT DAY!

Thank you for the happy positive story!!! :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so tired of this family being picked apart and ridiculed! I wonder what they will find wrong with this story.

Do you really think she meant that the child was ruined?

No, I don't think she meant it but she still said it. If I said my child was ruined, I would hope that others would not think it was OK just because I was having a meltdown. I am far from a perfect mom. I have 5 kids and have made my share of mistakes. I also taught elementary school for many years and also made mistakes there. I've been angry and said things I regret but I don't defend those mistakes.

I have not been a Kate basher and in fact have praised her for many things. It is a hard task to raise multiples. I know how hard it was for me with twins and feeling like I got no sleep. I can imagine how difficult it is for her but I cannot defend saying "She's ruined." Making excuses for her behavior, because she was having a meltdown, does no good. If I called my child or a child in my classroom "worthless," (or any other name) I would expect to be called on it even if I was just having a bad day.

You know, I've been thinking about the whole Kate thing lately. Let me preface this by saying I've been watching the show since they did their first special with Kate in her bathrobe. Anyhow, I used to think man, Kate is so rude and ridiculous. I'm kinda re-thinking it all now. I'll tell you why. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools. There are many a day where I'm sure I'm not the "perfect" Mom. Imagine if I had cameras filming my days!:scared1: I don't think it would be flattering all the time.:lmao: TLC is a business and they know what they're doing. We are being shown a snippet of maybe 3 days worth of footage. What do you think they're going to show? Controversy or meltdowns. Why? Because people will find it entertaining and tune in. Heck, look at how many people watched the season finale because of they way TLC spun the drama?

I just finished watching a couple of re-runs...one was when Kate was away for 3 days (episode Mr. Mom) and Jon was in charge. It was an interesting episode. What was touching about this one was when Jon took a video camera and went around asking each of the kids to say something to Kate. They said the sweetest things and Jon showed it to Kate. She cried and you could see the emotion on her face, it was genuine. I think she and Jon love those kids so very much, they realize how blessed they are.

The recent snippiness we've seen lately with Kate in regards to Jon I think must be stress related. Is it an acceptable way to treat your spouse, no. Does it happen to the best of us, yup.

Perhaps it's a snow ball effect. (I mean their celebrity status.) They started the show, were I'm sure surprised by how popular it became and decided to see where it leads. We have no idea what kind of contractual obligations they are under from TLC nor do we know 100% their lives. We go by what TLC wants us to see. I'm sure there are times where Kate blows up at Jon and then they make up but we don't see that part. I don't know, maybe I just feel badly because after watching their show for so long, I want them to be happy. I enjoy watching their little kiddos. Plus I think we all know that Kate doesn't handle stress well but now that the sextuplets are getting older, she'll probably be able to relax a bit more and loosen up. :goodvibes

Welcome to the dark side. ;)

subscribing to the new thread and waiting for the next season.

I can't believe all those ugly comments, I can't believe people are so hateful about a family.

after all these months, I'm still taken aback at things I read. the depths of hatred people feel ... wow. just wow.

A lot of men think that...but most are smart enough to keep it to themselves!! ;)

....
I guess I probably understand that "thinking" better from men who aren't parents.
Men who are the fathers of girls, though---The whole wishful, pining away to be a 50 year old with a teenager...yuck.
