While I can NOT stand Kate, Jon has a part in this too. He is a 30ish father of 8 and he is out partying with college girls? It doesn't matter if Kate gripes about the way he hangs the toilet paper, Jon should not be going out and having girls hang all over him when his marriage is supposably in trouble.

Maybe they need Dr. Phil! LOL Can you imagine Kate letting Dr. Phil tell her she needs to be nicer to Jon??

I've thought about Dr Phil a lot when thinking about this family. They've been on his show at least twice that I can recall (once in the "beginning" and Kate recently with the octo mom frenzy). It seems like they screen the guests very well before agreeing to have them on so he would have picked up on other things and possibly offered help to the family I would think????? I would love to see Dr Phil with J&K talking about their "reality" show - a frank, candid, honest discussion. Now that would be interesting

I agree. It all makes sense. Him staying with his mom and going to an off campus college house party (as reported), them appearing separately (him at Penn State, her at churches). No wonder she calls everything "mine" instead of "ours." Actually in her case it would be "ares."

Them on the couch has been strange for months. They use to be snuggled up. They haven't even touched each other, barely even looked at each other in the latest episodes I have seen. They have just not been shown together that much. Did she ever mention missing Jon or being glad he was back from Utah, or only Cara? She hasn't done her "oh honey" and touched his face or anything similar lately.

It is always sad when a marriage breaks down. I hope whatever happens is for the best.

I agree - we were watching part of the first special (I think it was the first one) before they had a series. J&K sat with their arms around each other, talked, laughed, smiled at each other - the dynamic has totally changed their. I think if you're going to "show" your feelings through your body language, it should really be addressed - either go on a show like Oprah or Dr Phil or make a statment on your website or something. Anyone could tell just from watching the show that things aren't "ok" anymore just from the interviews.

Watch the way Jon looks at her on the couch after she says something (when he actually looks at her). He really doesn't hide his disgust in his facial expressions. Also, anyone see them on Oprah? Kate said something about it taking a LOT of money to raise this number of kids and Jon gave her a very quick look, it was a very telling look. I can't describe it but it wasn't a look in agreement. Maybe he thinks she's greedy.

I missed them on Oprah but will have to find it on Oprah's website or youtube to watch.

you think she went to that show without help? I'm sure there was help .. we just didn't see it.

I totally agree with this! That's what I was thinking in the parking lot (I only saw about 10 minutes of the episode). Either Kate should have brought strollers or someone to help her with the kiddos. I can't imagine hauling 8 kids into the bathroom each time one of them has to go.

I would love to see Dr. Phil have Kate and Jon on his show. I watched Table for 12 and I really enjoy that show. The parents are "real" and nice to each other. And the family just seems like they get along better than J&K.

I may be the minority here .. but I don't think Dr. Phil can do any more good with Jon & Kate Gosselin than he did with the Octomom. They've been doing this too long, dealing with criticism, etc .. they know the appropriate answers to give to make themselves seem ok, KWIM?

I had the same reaction to the Hayes family. They seemed to truly enjoy each other and live a very down to earth life. I loved what the older kids said about their mom and dad--something to the effect that Dad was strong and protected all of them and Mom was there for them. They seem to be cultivating an attitude of gratitude and love of family that Jon and Kate have moved away from over the years.

I saw the pics of jon with some girls in a bar. He looked like he had a few drinks in him. They said he went to a party at their college and was kissing necks and perhaps lips. WOW! I really hate to hear this. This is one couple I thought could make it through a reality show.

Jon evidently gave an interview to People magazine stating that these rumors are hurtful. He admits that he stayed with his mother a few days to help her with a broken foot or something. He also states that he did go out drinking and posed for pictures with fans but that he in no way cheated on Kate.

I certainly hope that is true.

It certainly seems like a reasonable explanation (him being away helping his mom with her foot). I think he was just asking for trouble putting himself in that situation at the bar, but I also don't find it to be an earth shattering event. I just think he got caught up in the moment and made a stupid mistake. He deserves some of the heat he is getting, but I think it is also blown way out of proportion.

I wonder if what they teased in the promo is more about adressing the photos rather than their marital issues.

I don't think they're going to address anything earth-shattering. I think TLC is drumming up interest by feeding off the rumors.

I have another question (sorry - I know I've had lots lately!) from watching the early on "special" (pre show). They had dinner with another family Kate said lived near them at a buffet (Kate mentioned the name and how they "loose" money on their family since there are so many kids that get to eat for free but I don't recall now). Who is the family?? It was a guy (I want to say his name is Jim but I'm not sure if that's right or not) and five kids (I want to say two boys/three girls) - quints. That was the only time I'd ever seen them on the show or heard of them. Jon mentioned (while packing the van for the trip to dinner) that he valued the guy as a friend because he could talk to him and the other guy being able to understand where Jon's coming from having so many kids.

I also agree with the other poster who asked when the "organic" really kicked in. Their cart at Sams had Eggos, Goldfish, Animal Crackers. I'm not saying you can't have these but it seems like Kate makes such a big deal about things being organic - it just didn't fit in. Their total at Sam's was like $1150. It looked like Kate was going to fall over! I know it's a lot but did they buy that much stuff because of the cameras (maybe the show paid for that visit???)? It seems like if that was what they "usually" bought she wouldn't have had quite the reaction (unless she just had the reaction for the camera).

ETA: Ok so I went home for lunch today and watched the J&K one year later (the first half anyways) where she went shopping with Mady and Cara at Giant. Her total was like $400 and I didn't see a coupon at all used???? Maybe they just didn't show it (I'll have to re-watch it later on tonight or another night to double check), but it looked like on the screen that her "savings" were like $2 and some change. I guess I'm just confused. I know they got "free" food (or another donation) from Giant so maybe that's why she didn't use the coupons????

From J&K's archived praise webpage after the babies were born they gave thanks to the Giant grocery store for "1 Year supply of diapers, $5K in groceries....." along with " 1 Year supply of baby food, and $5K Gerber certificates..... to be used at Giant Foods", Free photo's and detergent..... from Sams, and 6 month supply of Huggies diapers for each baby from Kimberly Clark. So, Kate's shopping trips to Giant and Sam's was either 1) part of their free gifts from Giant, Sams or the manufacturers, OR were 2) greatly discounted because the stores donated the shopping trips in exchange for free advertising for the show and as 'product placements'. IMO the shopping was a combination of #1 and #2 - freebies from their gifts from having the sextuplets along w/Kate's own accumulated coupons and advertising/product placements to make an impressionable episode.

At first I believed those shopping trips were typical of her normal routine, but then realized it was impossible for someone to have soooo many coupons for such specific items for it to be a regular thing for her to do and now believe it was most likely an exaggerated situation just for the show.

You know the crazy thing-I never liked the name Allison growing up. But when we named the girls I tried to come up with a name that wasn't overused, wasn't too odd and sounded like a pretty girl when you heard it. A month before she was born someone suggested Allison and I thought that was crazy because my other DD is named Alyssa, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked it.

She was going to be Rachel until someone suggested Allison, I really like the name Rachel, but I went to school with a girl named Rachel that I didn't like so much and I just couldn't get past that!!

That is so crazy because I have always said that if I have twin girls, they will be Alyssa and Alison- one "L" for me.
