Christian turns 15 today! party:

It's a milestone birthday. But I'm not going to dwell on all the things he'll never do. I'm dwelling on the fact that Christian is healthy and happy. He likes his little life and he doesn't realize how different his life is from other 15yo's. That in itself is quite a blessing. Two weeks ago our family went through a terrifying rollover crash. We could have been killed. Today I am just so grateful that I can bake a little cake and blow out my son's candles for him. That i can take pleasure in the absolute JOY he shows when he sees his birthday balloons. I will take him to the mall where he can walk around and flap his hands and make little grunts & hoots while strangers stare at us and feel sorry for us. Hah! :laughing:

They have no idea. They are not the blessed ones. We are. So I am thanking God today for bringing this very special child into my life and allowing me to be his mother. Some days its a tough row to hoe, but today it's all buttercream, hot dogs, and helium. :goodvibes

Thank you for all your good wishes. I printed out all the pictures so he can enjoy them. Christian loves to look at pictures of food . We took him out to his favorite Mexican restaurant where they all know him. He had a big enchilada. they brought out a dish of Sopapillas & ice cream and sang Happy Birthday To You in Spanish. He knows that song, so he was really smiling and clapping for himself. :goodvibes

Oh, yes! Samuel is already here and we'll have a little celebration later. I've got the cupcakes ready. Christian's favorite dinner on tap: hot dogs, baked beans, applesauce , and koolaid. A fine 15th birthday, if you ask me. :woohoo:

Thank you. We took him to Walmart to walk around since it was raining hard. Bought him a new swimsuit that he can wear to Special Olympics swim practice and some birthday pants.He doesn't really play with toys or watch videos, other than the original "Fantasia". Can't wait for that to come out on DVD. :laughing:

I know it is not why you posted this, but I just wanted to tell you what an awesome Mom you seem to be. You and your family are proof that God truly knows what he is doing, and you should feel proud he put his very special Angel in your care. :cloud9:
