Johnny Depp in Orlando???????

Hi! I just got back Sun from WDW and had a great time! I heard someone say Johnny Depp was at the opening of POTC!!!! Can anyone confirm this, or does anyone have pics????? I heard he was staying at the YC!!!!!!!! We had asked a CM at the Jungle Cruise if he was coming for the opening that day, and she nearly bit our heads off!!!!!!!!!! She said NO, he is in NY he is not coming here!!!!!!!!! She was very nasty. Then I heard another CM say he was there???????? Anyone know????

I remember seeing his schedule somewhere. If I'm right he hit all the Disney Parks, EXCEPT WDW.

Sorry, that was a false rumor. The speculation started on other Disney enthusiast sites, but it was quickly squashed. Hope that helps.

I was at WDW this past week and although I did not see him I was told by several CM's he was there. First one said he was in Orlando, second one said staying onsite, third one "knew" he was at the Yacht Club do to a spouse working there. But as for an actual sighting- nope nada for me. But I do think he was in town- the news ran a story about him on pirates(obviously riding during off hours and the photos of that are very different than the ones I have seen of him on the POTC ride in Disneyland. He was dressed differently and they ran the story as " Johnny Depp in MK today..." So while I think he was there..... I only got to witness the almost complete likeness on the ride

yes, he was there. My DS has a friend who is a CM and he was backstage at MGM and was trying to open a door when it was opened from the other side. The CM fell down on his butt and there was a hand right there helping him up. It was Johnny Depp!!!! The talked for about 10min and Johnny even left a message on DS's friends cell phone.
I had heard from a "higher up" that he was going to be there, but kept hoping that he would be with me on DCL but nope....he was at WDW!

We just got back last night, and we were told he was there on Wed. and Thurs.

We were staying at the BC, and one night in the pool we were talking to a life guard who even pointed out the room he stayed in at YC!

I didn't believe him, so I asked another life guard at a later time, and she said the same thing. They also both said that Orlando Bloom was staying at the Contemporary.

They said that Johnny was there with his wife and kids, and that they all swam in Stormalong Bay without anybody even noticing!

They said he kept things very low key, and just stayed to himself playing with his kids.

Disney security was around of course, but not where you could see them.

Yes, he actually went to the midnight showing of POTC at DTD!!! I heard this from several other CM's who I work with that went to the midnight show! Sure wish I had gone too!!

I don't know if this is true of false, but from what I have heard, read or seen of JD it wouldn't surpise me at all if it was omited from his public schedule as he is very private when it comes to his family/kids.

I'm not sure if that is true. I was there, and didn't see him... and he said in an interview he hates watching himself, so the premiere was probably enough for him. He said he'll walk in the room and his kids will be watching the first one, and as soon as he hears it, he runs back out!

I just saw something last night and he and Orlando Bloom were in Japan. If he was here, he really gets around. It seems odd that the local news wouldn't have gotten wind of this and I've seen nothing about him being here.

I heard a couple of different CMs talking about him. One said he was staying at GF. The other said he was at BC. Rumors have been flying, but I don't know how much stock you can put in them.

That would have been before when most of the rumors have had him here. There is a guy who dresses like Captain Jack for a performance outside of POTC. He looks a lot like Johnny Depp.

I was there from the 5th till the 8th and we ate at the steak House at the YC resort.... We rode POTC a few times and rode it on the 7th 3X... I heard there was a look alike there, I didn't see him but I heard people talking about him.... I was hoping for Johnny to be there... But no such luck... However the Johnny in the ride, was about as real as they get! So I don't think he was really there..... But who knows?
