Joe The Plumber was right!

They don't have to be official, they just can't be insulting or offensive.

Has it been changed....again? I thought it was decided that what was "insulting or offensive" was subjective?

Well you may not "buy it", but that is the truth. The subprimes existed because there was a market that backed them up and there was a government program that mandated it. That is a fact.

Sorry, it is not fact. Only a small, very small percentage of subprimes were CRA and it had little or nothing to do with it. Laws that allowed credit default swaps and credit derivatives n 2000 had much, much more to do with it. You are right about Freddie and Fannie however, they definitely played a big part. Greed, it's all about greed!

Do you mean the Joe who lied and said he was buying 250,000+ business --not someday, but "I'm buying this business" Joe?

Do you mean the Joe who would in reality, be better off financially under Obama's tax plan? That Joe?

Oh, I see. Your audio proves nothing. Next?

:thumbsup2

Thank goodness for the drudge website. Without it some people wouldn't
have any straws to grasp at and things would be boring around here.

Dawn are you SURE it's Florida you went to and didn't get wisked off by little green men that have brainwashed you into only finding things to complain about when it comes to Obama? LOL Try being positive about your candidate, even if it's not Romney! LOL

Take a breath it's gonna be alright, I promise. :)

Well, it's one very small part of the truth in a much, much bigger picture. Nothing is ever as simple as your statement......the origin of our financial crisis is far more complex than Rush Limbaugh makes it out to be.

The government can set "mandates" for whatever it wants, but it can't force businesses to "take the ball and run with it" the way that Wall Street did in opening up the housing market to sub-prime borrowers.

Also keep in mind that President Bush wanted "home ownership for all".....as did his administration......as did Clinton and his administration.....as did Bush I and his administation....and so on, and so on.

There's blame on both sides of the aisle for our current mess. It just amazes me that so many people can honestly believe that *all* of what we're seeing now....this *massive* loss of wealth and all of the pain that is occuring now....all over the world.....and all of the pain that will follow is entirely due to decisions made by the Democratic Party in the United States Government. I just can't ever imagine supporting anything or anyone so fervently that I would completely lose all objectivity. It truly amazes me.

Hospitals care for the chronically ill who don't pay? They give away cancer treatment? They give away diabetes treatments?

We actually do have one that does. Both of ours do have a charity program that individuals can apply for. I can only talk about one personally. My MIL did have renal cell cancer. The hospital did treat her as a charity case because of her inability to afford the really high costs of treatments and blood transfusions she received twice a week. We were also not able to pay for them due to the high cost. The hospital did not request us to pay any. There may not be many places that offer these things, but since it was questioned like it would not happen, I thought I would mention two that did.

But, I had a friend who had insurance that denied the cancer treatments recommended at Houston. She received chemo, but not what they thought would work best. She passed away a year ago at the age of 32. Would government health care have been any better for her? That's not a challenge BTW. I'm curious what you think even though I disagree with Obama in almost every area. That disclaimer is due to the fact I routinely stick my foot in my mouth....

I do like the fact that Arkansas children can receive insurance through the state called ARkids based on income. I believe it is set up so that a minimum wage earner qualifies the children. I do believe the limit is higher, but I don't know a lot about it. I do know that even if the child is covered under another insurance (such as non-custodial parent carrying it), they can qualify for ARkids so that they have no payment for medical at all. My SS is covered after my insurance pays. My DD is not covered except for my insurance, but I am happy I have it.

Of course it can happen to someone who has insurance.
For all I know he may have had insurance.

The point is:
According to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, the number of emergency patient visits rose 32 percent from 1996 to 2006, but the number of hospital emergency departments decreased by 7 percent in that same time.

------------------------------

Many people who no longer have heath insurance will go to the ER because they know the hospital can not turn them away.
If those people had health care chances are a lot more would be seeing a family doctor and the ER rooms would have fewer walk ins and true emergencies could be treated in a more timely manner.

JMHO

Nothing political in my answer, but my DH can give you an earful on other reasons they are full. What you are saying is true. But.....He is a Firefighter/Paramedic. There are many more emergencies: a few are increases in car accidents (more kids are driving all the time + cell phones  ); increases in gang activity (they keep shooting and stabbing each other, not to mention the bystanders; drug od's, etc. However, there are also have some that want to be warm, some that they just don't know (why does someone call an ambulance when they can't feel their tongue?:confused3 ); some that are worried because the crack rock they bought was really ivory soap (One of my favorites since they wanted the dealer brought up on fraud. I think the cops took the patient to jail :lmao: ) and the last one I remember was a call he went to where a girl was hit in the eye during a fight (sounds ok so far, right?) that happened three days before. It was not even red. But, they have to take them to hospital er's if they call because they could be sued if they even recommend they don't go. The hospitals love it, too.

Thought I'd maybe give someone a laugh since everything is so serious right now.
