Recently at a Cast Member viewing of the movie avatar at the finding Nemo theater Joe Rohde creator of Animal Kingdom and Jon Landau producer of Avatar were in to discuss Pandora coming to Animal Kingdom.

During the short talk with both of them Joe calls Avatar a once in a life time experience. Joe said he loves to build stuff, the designing and meetings for Avatar were nice and all but He is very excited that they have started construction he wants to build.

Joe also talked about the underlying values of Avatar and Animal Kingdom and how they are connected. Animal kingdom is is kind of supposed to let nature be in control thats why some of the building have that run down look. Nature was a major part in both projects.

Joe also said "This project is intimidating because it's technically mind boggingly hard to do."

Jon Landau said "Avatar is not coming here, Pandora is coming here."

Jon also said that the banshee flying ride and bioluminescent forest will be very interactive for everyone.

So that proves that there will be a banshee flying ride. We do not know any further details on what that ride will be like or what any other rides will be like. Joe also proved that this project will have new technology also no details on that but it will be interesting to see what comes from this project.

I know many people don't like Avatar (it was the highest grossing movie of all time) but I hope those people still go and check this land out wince its finished. It has the capability to be one of the most immersive lands disney has ever done. This project also brings a new night time Kilimanjaro safari, new night time spectacular show, and extended hours at AK. Excited to see more details on Pandora come out over the next couple years.

Rest assured...there will be MILLIONS of people that will come and "check this out".

I'm bursting at the seams over what this will mean for AK.

So excited for this! I love Animal Kingdom at night; I think I'll love it even more when Pandora opens. :thumbsup2

Exactly - this is the best looking night time park, and now it will finally be open at night...

Awesome photo! I've long said the same thing - it's the prettiest park at night and it's never open for guests! I'm excited about Pandora coming to AK - AK needs something to draw people to stay all day. Right now, we can be there at RD and be completely done by noon.

1) MrsRustyScupper attended the film and the speechifyin'.
2) She was not impressed.
3) It might be a good ride, but her (and other CM's) were underwhelmed.
4) Additionally, they were not on Rohde's side and still don't like him.

DISCLOSURE: Both MrsRustyScupper and I do not like Joe. We think he
is a small-thinker who has myopic view of development. A good example
is the design of Animal Kingdom. He is credited with the layout and build of
the park. It is disjointed, poorly laid-out for flow, too hot due to poor plans
of people-movement, and far too few rides/attractions for its size and build
cost.

I don't have a problem with how AK was laid out. First off as for AK being low in rides and what not they were cut off by Eisner because they were over budget. I think some of the details in AK are some of the best disney has ever done. Joe Rohde did the best he could with what he had. There was never supposed to be a camp Minnie Mickey and if beastly kingdom happened I don't think we would be in this position of bringing in avatar. I think Joe Rohde is a great imagineer. As for needing upgrades and what not you can say the same for all four parks. DHS is small and losing its appeal, Epcot has empty buildings and could use some more rides, MK you can always upgrade, and AK needs more rides. It is what it is.

I agree. If Joe is responsible for AK, then I like him even more! It is my favorite park because it is so spread out and full of plants and trees and winding trails. We even found a little trail to a bench over looking the water where we were by ourselves looking at the tree lined river and Everest. Beautiful! Trees, winding trails with animals and waterfalls. I love it. The only thing wrong is it needed expansion, which is what we are getting now. Then it is going to be one of the best, possibly even THE best park in the world.

~Fabulous pic! OMG, this is so gorgeous!

~Take that, Borishack! I challenge you to find a pic that can top that! ^^^ I triple dog dare you. :cool2: This is why Disney is the number one theme park in the world! :goodvibes

totally agree

AK is already the most beautiful park in the world, imho, and with the expansion and night-time hours it will start an evolution for the park that could(ultimately) find it in the position of being one of the most talked-about parks in America.
