I admit I haven't watched every second of this show...but is the poor guy going to get stood Up????

Every so often they flash to him looking out at an empty foyer as if watching for Cat or Linda to appear, and neither one is there!

Boy--tough break for the cowboy in what is proving to be an idiotic assumption that European women are going to connect with an American!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

The last episode I saw (weeks ago!) was when Linda left. How did she get back on?

Does anyone care this time around? So he's not rich...it was a neat idea once, but this time, who cares? :)

He the choice earlier in the game to bring one girl back and she was the one (or at least that's how I understand it).

Now, I have my own comments about how it actually ended but I won't post those now just in case anyone on the left coast is still watching it.

Very sweet ending. He seems like a nice guy. Now if only he would learn NOT to say "I seen..." Goes right through me. :hyper:

Barry, it was different this time around, which I didn't realize until tonight. He wasn't promised anything if the girl said yes. He did end up with 90 acres of land, and everything on it, including a house, but he didn't know that going into it. And she got $250,000...also not part of the deal. It had a VERY different ending.

I was kind of hoping Hurricane the Horse would come dashing across the field too. Darn.

I can't imagine, having done the series twice, that they could pull off another one tho.

Barry...who ever really cared?;) But this time was pretty hilarious! VERY snarky editing.:)

But he seemed like a nice guy and the girl seemed nice enough too.:)

I enjoyed the ending. I'm sure our perceptions throughout the series were shaped by very clever editing, but by the end I was caught up in the fun of it and found it to be good, mindless, relatively harmless entertainment.

I agree, though, MaryAnnDVC--how would they pull off another installment? It would have to be something like "Joe Millionaire: Interior China" or "Joe Millionaire: Siberian Outback"!
Not sure if I could make it through another episode myself; I think they should end it here on a reasonably good note.

Can someone update me on the ending? I was busy packing until 11pm last night!

Thanks! :D

Tiffany, to make a long story short, David had one brief and uneventful date with each woman. In the end, he chose Linda, but she didn't show up in the evening to accept his "promise ring." David was flown back to Texas and taken to a beautiful ranch to recover from his ordeal. Surprise (or maybe not)--Linda was at the ranch; she basically told him she loved him and could forgive the lie, and the two expressed their wish to continue the relationship. They were rewarded--there was a check for $250,000 (for Linda) and the deed to the ranch (for David). I thought it was a cute and satisfying ending.

I can see it now, though--David and Linda's wedding day: David waits at the altar, Linda doesn't show up, and then the next day she finds him and says she was a coward for not showing up at the wedding and she wants to start over with him. Seems to be a pattern for her! :)

I spend entirely too much time watching this stuff. Gotta work on that.

Thanks so much! Wish I could have seen it! I'm the same as you, spend waaay too much time watching reality tv! (is it REALLY reality tv???) NOT!

I'm glad it was Linda, though. Thanks for the details!

Call me a cynic, but I think she flew in for the freebie trip to America.

Does anyone honestly see these two staying together (besides David - lol)?

After Evan Marriott's admission about how this whole thing was "scripted" and decided on by the powers that be I took the show as what it obviously was, a soap opera...

The end was very predictable and corny. The camera angles make it very obvious that there were at least 2 or 3 cameras with him most of the time and he's not actor enough to not realize somethings about to happen.

What does Fox care? They make money without spending one high paid actor's salary! They'll do a Joe Millionaire Cro Magnan Man for that kind of profit!

I can see the next one already....an American woman with European men!
Think I'll wait until the last two shows to tune into that one. The dates on this second show were boring, and they make up the guts of the series.

Oh well, something to look at between loads of wash and homework in the evenings.

WDW in June !

As the series progressed, I came to like David much better than Evan. I remember telling my mom that there was no way that this hick cowboy could fool American women. But David seems so much more real and down to earth. Whether or not, he and Linda stay together, this ending was so much more romantic than the first one.

Someone mentioned that this was the third one. When was the first?
