I know I am dreaming, but can anyone think of a part-time job that would allow for weekends off?

Benefits aren't important.

I am either quitting my current job, having a nervous breakdown, or... I don't know. Bad day, bad week, bad month, bad year...

Time for change.

I work at a college and we have lots of part-time office staff that have weekends and evenings off.

Bank teller would have weekends off. Or you might only have to work 8 -12 on Saturday.

Through college and graduate school, I worked in child care centers. Afternoons only, no weekends, no evenings. Pay isn't great but if you love children, it can be a lot of fun.

Banks, nonprofits, colleges -- almost anywhere that doesn't have weekend hours. Just be prepared to be paid very, very little. Unless you have a specific technical skill or license, a half-time position may very well pay 1/4 of what you would get full time and get no benefits.

Support staff in a public school (although probably not the time to be looking now). The schools around us are always looking for classroom aides (usually for special ed) and substitute custodians/cooks/bus drivers.

Substitute Teacher! Awesome hours, great people and you are home by 3:30!

I would love to get back into the classroom as an aide. I did that for 7 years with special ed. I do not have my para professional license though. I thought I could of been grandfathered in but that was possible. Sure wish the schools around here was looking for substitutes to positions that do not require an license.

I was going to suggest the same thing. We have a large district and they always seem to have special ed aid openings.

Our state, and many others, don't allow you to be a substitute teacher without having a teacher's license, just an FYI.

Yup....this! I work in a HS kitchen...4 hours a day....5 days a week...no nights , weekends, holidays, summers, off whenever there is no school (holidays, snow, etc...) Pay is great (Almost $12/hr). state retirement plan w/(employer match).

This is my third year and I love it, it's not "difficult" but it can be challenging (fast paced, got to be organized, efficient and manage time well)! Get on a sub list to try it out...that's how most of our staff was hired...started as subs, then took a permanent position once they become available.
