Thanks for posting the link Sherry E. That was a hoot!
You're welcome,
IndianaScott! I remembered that Gisele had posted the link to that video within the last day or two, and it was easy to find.
I love the idea and look of the new version of Jingle Cruise, and I can't wait to see it in person! People complained when there were only very slight holiday touches added to the ride last year -- so slight, in fact, that the ride didn't even need to close down for those touches to be added in.
Now there will be some who complain, saying that the decorations are "too much," or "too tacky," or that "decorations don't belong in the jungle" or whatever.
The regular Jungle Cruise presents a certain scenario that is difficult to weave into a holiday context and vice versa, but I think that the Enhancement Team and Imagineers have done a great job with it so that it makes sense -- as much sense as it can make.
If the decorations were neatly and carefully hung from the trees with care, and perfectly manicured Christmas trees and wintry displays were set up at each scene along the river, it could look ridiculous. If there were suddenly snow in the jungle it might be a bit far-fetched.
However, the whole concept of Jingle Cruise is that the animals got into the supply of holiday goods, scattered them about and messed them up -- and it is hilarious! Was I seeing things, or is one of the animals wearing a furry boot on its head? I mean... that's funny! The cubs playing with the reindeer head -- I find that funny! I think the whole overlay is done with a type of offbeat, wacky humor that we don't get with the other 2 ride overlays at DLR during the season, and it's refreshing! Even the piranhas get in on the act!
