Jingle Bell Jingle Bam?

2017 JBJB

I didn't watch the entire thing. Will be going at the end of the month and was trying to decide between JBJB or Fantasmic. I've seen Fantasmic at DL BUT...I lost interest partway through that video and the fact that Fantasmic has seating and that we'll be there (where JBJB plays) for the Star Wars show late that night is swaying me toward Fantasmic. But I was considering JBJB because it's seasonal.

I'm trying to decide the same thing--JBJB or Fantasmic. The kids and I have seen Fantasmic and don't really care to see it again, but my husband hasn't had the chance yet. I know he wants to see it sometime, it's just a matter of whether or not it will be this visit. It looks like Fantasmic is the better show, but JBJB is seasonal, and the whole point we're going in December is for the Christmas stuff.

This will be our first time at Disney and we have one day at DHS. Should we see fantastic or JBJM?

If I were you I'd do Fanatsmic if you won't be able to get back to HS anytime soon. JBJB doesn't look like it really compares to Fantasmic.

That said, I haven't seen JBJB yet, haha, but from that video I'm not too impressed.

The DL Fantasmic (at least the old one) is much, much better than the HS version in many people's opinions, including mine. That being said, I'm a local WDW passholder and I love our version. I've seen it dozens of times.

Fantasmic is by far my favorite night time show at wdw now that Wishes is gone. I've seen it several times and have never seen JBJB. If I only had one night, I still wouldn't miss Fantasmic even though I've seen it already. So if you've never seen either, definitely see Fantasmic.

Luckily I am able to do a 9 day trip next month and can do 2 evenings in DHS giving me the opportunity to see both.

Anyone experience the JBJB Dessert Party? Would love a review... to know what to expect re: seating location, viewing location, etc.! :)

Does anyone know how long this show is?

We caught this show last year, but did the dessert party beforehand. Food and drinks were fine, as well as spending some quality time with Santa Goofy. I don't remember anything about an ornament last year, but we did receive some special glasses to use to watch the fireworks.

The actual show was bit of a letdown, even though we had prime spots to see it. I was not a fan of Prep & Landing before, and I'm still not a fan.

I’ve been anxiously checking for reviews about the dessert party too. Are they giving attendees an ornament this year?
We went to the dessert party Saturday night. Yes they are giving attendees an ornament as well as those special fireworks glasses (where you see candy canes, snowflakes, etc when you look at the fireworks or other bright lights.
As far as a review goes I really liked the party itself but was a little disappointed with the viewing area. They have moved it to the elevated platform/stage directly in front of the Chinese theater. As a result the large fireworks they shoot off behind the theater to the right are partially blocked. Also there are small trees/bushes planted on either side (to hide sound equipment or something) that could use a trimming to minimize blocking the side screens. Being so close and up higher was an advantage to seeing the projections on the actual theater but left something to be desired for the overall effect as you simply were too close to properly take in the show.
As far as the party goes I thought it was really good. They had a handful of light appetizers (pretzel bread with warm cheese dip, flat bread with spinach artichoke dip, chips and onion dip, and party mix. There was an extensive dessert selection (sugar cookies, Rice Krispie treats, red velvet Whoopie pies, cupcakes, brownies, Yule log, fruit bites, pumpkin pie bread pudding, nitro station with chocolate mousse). There was coffee, hot chocolate, soda, a non alcoholic lemonade/punch drink, as well as multiple alcoholic drink offerings. Between myself and my husband we tried them all. The jingle bell jingle bam punch was our favorite but we also liked the gingerbread martini. The hot chocolate martini wasn’t that good after a sip or two. The hot chocolate with black cherry bourbon was ok. They also have beer and wine avail. The tables sat up to 4 (they were small) so larger parties were split into 2 tables next to each other. You have assigned tables so you don’t have to line up super early. That being said we had swung by the venue when we saw they were setting up around 5 to find out if we should grab anything to eat ahead of time or if there would be enough non dessert food to eat. After talking to the lady for a minute she told me to just hang out a couple minutes and they’d get us checked in too. I was glad we did that because you get an assigned time to meet Santa Goofy during the party (ours was 6:45) but the handful of groups they checked in at 5 were told to come back at 6:05 instead of the time printed on their card. So we got to meet Santa Goofy first thing and were the first ones let into the dessert party.

Thank you for the detailed review! I really appreciate it. It sounds like a lot of fun. We can’t wait to check it out in person.

I’d skip jingle bam. Show was awful. I’ve seen fantastic multiple times and was kicking myself we didn’t go to see it again. I’d never pick jingle bam over fantastic.
