..... When I got that email, my heart kinda split, all of those cartoons are pretty much my childhood right there, its one of my favorite rides at Universal! But hey, such good things can't last forever!
Well, it replaced the ride that contained the cartoons that defined my childhood! Time marches on.

Looking forward to seeing what the new attraction will be but as others have already stated, I'm hoping we get more than just a new theme for the same old ride system.

This is the only ride that made me queasy. I thought it might be the water theme but maybe it is the bumpiness.

I agree with PP, no messing with Jaws!

What so you guys think this will mean for the SpongeBob meet and greet outside of the ride?? :confused3 We'll be there the 2nd weekend in April and my girls were really looking forward to seeing SB and/or Patrick! Hopefully they'll keep them around.

You guys should stay atleast 1 night at the Nick Hotel. You can have a character breakfast with Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward, plus the pool area is a lot of fun. At US you will only see Spongebob.

I remember waaaaaaay back when it was the Hanna Barbera ride. We loved it back then but the older I got the more I disliked it. It was just too bumpy for my taste and was always the one ride I would get nauseous on.

I'm fine with it going bye-bye, though there are others I wish never left. King Kong, Back to the Future and my all time favorite Alfred Hitchcock.

I love this ride. My first ride at Universal was Hannah-Barbera. Then when it changed to Jimmy Neutron, I loved it too. Doing the chicken dance sitting down just won't be the same. And I'm going to miss all those llamas too :).

I could easily see them retheming the ride system (ala BTTF), but I guess only time will tell. I love that ride system, I find it amazing and also kind of nostalgic for me. Whatever goes in its place, it better rock! :)

:rolleyes1no messing with jaws or twister

the monster walkthru @ USH is great, would be a nice addition imo homage to haunted houses that they do so well
I agree no messing with Twister please :worship:

I am a dedicated fan of Twister, and I agree don't mess! You wouldn't want an angry tornado to come after you for trying to push it around ;).

I've been through the haunted house at USH several times, and it is a fantastic experience. Great detail and a perfect dedication to the Universal monsters. I once went through it and Nosferatu scared me! But it's all fun and everyone has a good time (except for the wussies that leave their guts at home lol).

My 6-y/o son was really looking forward to trying this ride in May. :(

Depending on when you go, you may still get the chance to experience it. From the sounds of it, the ride is pretty much been moved to "Seasonal" status for this summer before they start the real work towards replacing it.

So, if you are there during the busier parts of May, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the ride was open. (At least part of the day)

:thumbsup2

We are going over Memorial Day weekend and I bet it will be open then too. My son wants to ride it one more time, not like he's never been on it before.

It would certainly make sense if it were open during a holiday weekend. :teeth:

Well, I guess we will just cross our fingers. We will be there May 16-17, which is mid-week. So, I guess we will just wait and see. If it is closed, we will just find other things to do!!!

Thanks for the info!

I didn't really like the Jimmy Neutron ride...happy to see that it is getting replaced. It was WAY too jerky for my liking.

Looking over the rides that will be open on the USO side, its looking bleak. The only ones that we really like are Shrek, Mummy, MIB (and RRR, but I haven't had the privilege of riding it yet). Its getting dated on that side, so its nice to see that something new is coming in. I'm not even sad to see Terminator go. Jaws is really needing replacement (sorry to all the Jaws lovers), Twister was ok once. Beetlejuice was not my thing. Earthquake...don't even get me started. Simpsons is too  for me. ET - loved the movie when I was a kid in the 80's, but its time to go too. I work in Pediatrics, and most kids don't even know who ET is (we have a piece of equipment that turns their finger red, and we always refer to it as the ET finger...most don't know who I'm talking about). The animal show is cute. Fear factor...ok the first time. We don't go to the kids section, so don't know anything there. All in all, it will be nice to see something new coming in.
