Jillian the Bachlorette

It's possible that he already had plans for the date of the show that he did not want to cancel, thus "previous engagement". They are always trying to stir things up.

I thought they were under contract and would have to be there no matter what

I think David's approach was low class and Tanner's approach was colored with humor. David was angry, Tanner was happy. David was constantly threatening people, Tanner never said he'd harm or wanted to harm anyone. David continued to try to touch Jillian's shirt, chest and kiss her after she had nicely told him not to. He was very agressive with her and kept saying crass words. If he had brought his appreciation for her tushie to the table with humor and laughter, she might not have felt threatened. Instead, he was rakish and crude; she turned her face from him when he came in for a kiss and she said, 'you've got to be kidding' but he tried to put his fingers under the edge of her shirt yet again. David was handsome but to me he seemed like he was boiling underneath and possibly dangerous to any woman he felt familiar with. I'd label him a wife beater quite honestly. Might be a bit over the top but it's how I reacted to him from the beginning-'man code' -hogwash!!!
::yes:: my thoughts exactly.

Also, did anyone else notice the comment about Juan from I think it was Mark? About Mark understanding how David was because they were both from the midwest, and Juan was so different because he was from L.A.? :confused3 That was so stupid. I grew up near L.A. and there "man-code" jerks there, too. My dh grew up in the midwest, and he isn't as "smooth" as Juan, but he's much more Juan than David, thank goodness! :rotfl:

...just a lurker here, but I'd like to comment that I thought Juan handled himself with a lot of class - David was just a loose cannon, 'specially when liquored up and Mark is a jerk for 'having his back'......

I am NOT a Wes fan, but I can also see how editing could make him look much worse than he really is. I think it looks like he has a sarcastic sense of humor and a lot of what he said, when taken out of context, seems pretty damning. For instance, the "I'll always have Jillian wrapped around my little finger." comment could indeed be a sarcastic, reflective remark where he was really maing fun of HIMSELF. Don't get me wrong! I think he said some really stupid things and he certainly gave the editors plenty of juicy quotes to chose from. BUT ... I also don't think he is as big of a creep as he was made out to be. BTW, I think that Wes was invited to the show.

...whether it went down that way or not, I think Wes shot himself in the foot - I, for one will NOT be buying his CD.....

No respect for Jillian :sad2:

Poor Reid! I liked him!

:wave2: Hi Amanda!!
I like Jillian. The only times I've watched this series was when DeAnna was the Bachelorette, then AFTER that, watched Jason b/c I felt sorry for him AT the time (not now :lmao: )....I feel that Jillian compared to DeAnna and Jason, is a much more down to earth person.

And Reid is not out of it yet!! LOVED the teaser showing him coming back!

Wes singing or NOt SINGING did NOthing for me, did not like his looks, personality OR his voice.

Kiptyn - someone nailed it on the head when they said he is only attractive from certain angles. Not attractive to me at all, and Ed is just ok, so I am hoping that Reid does his comeback proud!

...I never really considered it before, but now that I think about it, you are right...

...as for Ed, he reminds me of a slightly cuter version of Robbie [Brad Garrett] from Everybody Loves Raymond....

...I sure hope he reconsiders and gets the gig as a future Batchelor....:thumbsup2

Oh I hope not. I think that would quite possibly be the most boring Bachelor season ever. Jake really has no personality. I think he is OK looking but he is just a wet noodle, IMO.

I would agree with this 100%. My ex-fiance looked and acted like David and he was a violent person. Which is why I am no longer with him.:thumbsup2 People like David get riled up over EVERYTHING and most anything will send them over the edge. He is a scary man.

...how could that be - he's PEFECT, remember?? ;) :rolleyes1 :teeth:

An interesting thought...Reid as a future Bachelor.

I'd be on that one :thumbsup2

I thought that the show was somewhat interesting. Mostly because it was pretty clear that they edit to "create" a personality for each person. Jake was edited as the perfect one, David, the low-class jerk, etc.

I think the true colors came out for a lot of them on the MTA show. Sasha seemed bitter about something, he never appeared that way on the show. Even Jesse, who I used to really like, came off as kind of a jerk. Especially in the way he defended Wes and David and attacked Jake. I thought the whole Jake thing kind of came out of nowhere. Jake never said he was perfect, Jillian did. Jake always replied that he WASN'T perfect. I think the guys were mad because Jake wouldn't get int the dirt with them and their juvenile, drunken escapades.

In Jake's defense, I think we didn't see enough of him to get a really accurate picture of his personality. What we did see, is the "perfect" person the editors wanted us to see. I would like to see him as the next bachelor if only to finally see what his faults might be.

I think I just lost a lot of respect for some of those guys. The one person who I think remained a total class act was Michael the break dancer. He didn't have a bad thing to say about anyone, including Jillian. He is also way more mature than most of those other guys even though he is quite a bit younger.

I think Chris Harrison did a great job with his questions. I like the way he called the guys out on their bad behavior, and how he came to the defense of Juan. It looked like the guys hated Juan because he wouldn't get drunk and act like an idiot, which says a lot about them. Chris always seems to ask the questions that I would like the answers to. :) I hope he sticks with the show as long as it's on.

I was just happy to see Juan get vindicated a bit on the show. And I hope the reaction of the crowd was a wake up call to some of the guys. Men like Dave are boo'd and men like Jake are cheered.

And I still can't stand Molly or Jason. He was so SMUG I wanted to slap him. I have never wanted to see a couple crash and burn more than them.

I agree that Michael (break dancer) was totally upfront and had the most class. Even though he is kinda young, maybe they should do a Bachelor with him and he picks someone who he would like to start a relationship with, not marry at the end of the show. That would be fun and more realistic. I never liked the fact you HAD to choose someone to marry by the end of the show. I would definately watch Michael....popcorn::.he is adorable and has a very nice family too.

ME 2--does anyone have screen shots of "Reid" coming back? You all are saying that, but I just couldn't pick him out in the preview (Although I do think he is coming back, I just want to see what others saw in the preview).

He was the one they showed that was kind of leaning over looking at a wedding band in his hands in the previews. It was not an engagement ring, it looked more like an eternity band.
