Would like to try Jiko this summer. I know everywhere is Disney is kid friendly but would we feel comfortable with kids at Jiko or is it geared more towards adults? Is the dress business casual or do they allow tee & shorts? I would like one "dress up" meal I was thinking they may have a dress code.

Thanks!

We took our kids to Jiko last year and they loved it. We didn't feel out of place taking the kids.

The dress code, IIRC, is "resort casual." I definitely wouldn't wear a t-shirt. If you go a little dressed up you wouldn't stick out.

They do have a dress code which amounts to no swimwear, no pool shoes, no hats or tank tops for men, and they request "dress shorts."

While Jiko is not specifically geared toward children, they have a pretty extensive kids' menu compared to many WDW restaurants, and there are always children dining there.

We've eaten at Jiko with our kids several times. It's their favorite restaurant! They have a great kids' menu and they give the kids crayons so they can color on the kids' menu. My kids also received a phone call from Goofy once during dinner there!

We always dress up when we eat there and, of course, we take the baby out if he gets fussy.

Enjoy!

Kids are welcome in Jiko, just keep in mind, this isn't a rushed dinner. You have time between the courses to relax and enjoy.

You can dress up or go in tshirt and shorts. We have gone both ways. As long as you don't wear swimwear you are good to go.

We went in December -- our DD was 2 1/2 at the time and loved her meal, as did we. One of the best meals I've ever had at WDW!

Started taking dd here when she was 5, not too long after they opened. She loved it. She even learned how to eat salad here. We sat by the window where the little pond is and she loved watching the ducks that were there at the time. I don't recall there being any our last few visits. And they do have a nice menu for kids but no fries. Actually a lot of "healthy" options...;) (I don't think they have a fryer)

But, I wouldn't hesitate taking children here, but as some posters mentioned it is a "slower" paced dinner so if you have kids that can't sit after a half hr or so then you might have a tough time. There are a lot of places to walk around though. We like to look out at the savannah before we eat or while we're waiting. Can be a fun time for the kiddies
