Is Jiko that much better than Sanaa??? We will be on regular dining plan and wondering if Jiko is worth the 2 credits...We are staying at the Contemporary but my wife wants to visit AKL so thought about JIKO or Sanaa one night but that would leave me without a table service meal for one day if we go with the Signature Restaurant..

thanks for the help...

We love both of them but in your situation I would choose Sanaa. Jiko is great, but I think Sanaa may be the closest you can get to a signature for one credit. Great food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. I wouldn’t spend the two credits for Jiko in this case.

You can’t go wrong either way. AKL is a fantastic way to spend the evening no matter which one of its restaurants you pick!

To me, you're splitting hairs between two of the best WDW restaurants. We love them both. If Sanaa is one credit and Jiko is two, then Sanaa wins. Get the bread service. Great plan to visit AKL. Go to both the Jambo house (Hotel, Jiko, Boma) and explore and to Kidani Village (DVC, Sanaa). There are several different savannahs to view. Walk around Jambo house and pool areas. It's a beautiful resort.

I echo the two previous replies. Both are excellent, but if you're on the regular plan, then Sanaa makes the most sense. . .and definitely do the bread service.

Another vote for Sanaa since it is one credit. Save Jiko for next time when you are not on the dining plan.

Normally I would say even as good as Sanaa is, I'd choose Jiko. But with you on the regular dining plan, I'd go Sanaa. The only way I would do Jiko in your case is to pay OOP for a lower priced dinner on one of your days and save the credit for Jiko. Would it be worth it? Absolutely. Just another thought for you. :goodvibes

As others have said you can't go wrong with either, but if you are worried about dining credits then definitely go the Sanaa route but be sure to pay out of pocked for the bread service which is the best appetizer on property. Period. And be sure to go up to Jambo house and look around. Kidani Village where Sanaa is is fine, but Jambo is what you really need to see. You can walk (about 10 minutes) or hop on any of the busses (just clarify it is going to Jambo house first)

We tried Sanaa, Jiko, and Boma last March. We thought Jiko was overrated.

We’re returning to Sanaa in July.

The Sanaa is fabulous.....my grandson and his wife kept telling us so we wen in Jan....so delis and pretty place...

We love both, and they are totally different.
Sanaa is more Indian inspired and Jiko is more African inspired.
Personally, we prefer Jiko.
However, given that you are on the DDP and need that last dining credit, I would do Sanaa.
Make sure you get there early. Watching the animals from Sanaa is fun, but you can't see anything outside after dark.
