Me and my girlfriend are heading down to Disney in December and are staying at the Boardwalk for the very first time. The previous December (12/16) we stayed at AK Lodge and absolutely loved it. However, we wanted to try something new and as neither of us have stayed at the Boardwalk, we voted for that one.

Long story short: We will be on the Dining Plan and our reservations date opens in a few weeks. We may try both of these options, but I wanted to gauge the opinions of some who have tried one or both of these restaurants as to what they liked about both and which they would recommend.

We absolutely loved Sanaa, and have adventurous palates so not scared of the "boldness" of Jiko's menu. However, we've heard great things about FF since the reno and it's proximity to our room has us intrigued. Would love the opinions of any and all on their preference.

TIA.

I have stayed at Boardwalk every year since 2006 and dined at Flying Fish nearly every one of those years. If you are staying at the Boardwalk and also wanting to try Flying Fish, there is no better time to do so IMO. It's wonderful to walk down from your room, onto the nighttime boardwalk atmosphere, and have a signature dining experience right there. Having an after dinner boardwalk stroll is also lovely. Since the refurb, the new chef has incorporated a more sophisticated-looking menu, which you may appreciate.

FF is one of my favorites but I also enjoy Sanaa. Keep in mind that FF would be 2 dining credits versus Sanaa (only 1 credit).

Thanks. I was actually comparing Jiko to FF. Got to go to Sanaa our last trip and really enjoyed it!

You can't go wrong with either Jiko or Flying Fish as they are two of the better Disney-operated signatures. But, if you're staying at BWI and can only pick one, I'd go with Flying Fish due to proximity.

Thanks. It sounds like many are thinking the same.

Of course, we may very well try to do both and just pick one table service to do next time.
