I just got off of the phone with Disney Dining. I wanted to make a lunch reservation at Jiko, but was told that they only do the lunch program with someone from AK. I had no idea as I thought Jiko did lunch when we were there last. Anyway, I asked about it and was told that the program ends after July 1st and that there was no word whether or not they will be serving lunch after that.

Anyone here anything? I wanted to book a lunch on December 27th when we will be by AK.

I don't recall Jiko ever being open for lunch other than for special events like the Lunch with a....?

I agree with the two previous posters. In fact, I'll go out on a limb :) and give a non-couched response: Jiko has never been open for lunch to the general public. (Neither has Boma, but nobody asked...)

Okay, now that the minor detail is settled, anyone hear of them opening up for lunch? I find it a bit odd to be only open for dinner.

A lot of the resort table services reaturants are not open for lunch, as well as Jiko the ones I can think of include Chef Mickey's, Ohana, Narcosse, Artist Point and California Grill.

Terri is right...I can also add Boma, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Palio, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Cape May Cafe to the restaurants not open for lunch.

People tend to be in the parks or at the pool during the day. It probably doesn't pay to try to staff those restaurants for lunch. Restaurants like Chef Mickey's serve breakfast late and open early for dinner. Not much of a window for lunch.

Well! Lunch with an Animal Trainer (or whatever the proper name is) certainly didn't last long, did it? It was getting decent reviews, too! I decided the content was a bit too mature to hold DS's interest but it sounded like a neat way to spend an afternoon.

FWIW I don't think Jiko has ever served lunch, other than with this program. And this program was just introduced late last year, which is why I am suprised they are ending it already.

Actually, very few restaurants are open for lunch and certainly none of the signature restaurants are. CA Grill, Artist Point, Yachtsman, Narcossees, Citricos, Blue Zoo, Shulas, etc are only open for dinner.

You can check www.allearsnet.com for dining hours and menus. You'll see that few hotel restaurants are even open for lunch - even places that offer breakfast.

Jiko has never offered lunch...

Sorry you're disappointed!

We have lunch with an animal trainer booked for the end of October at Jiko. We have not been notified that the program was cancelled.

You might want to call them today. They told me this morning that it will end July 1st.
