Jiko or Tiffins with JB?

Currently we have an early meal at Tiffin's including the jungle book package. But I'm wondering if it is worth it to drop the package and just eat at Jiko's.

We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, our kids are booked in at Simba's club, and we're on the deluxe dining package.

We could eat early or we could eat late at Jiko's.

Either way we plan on spending some time in animal kingdom just the two of us. Maybe having a couple drinks in one or more of the lounges at AKL.

We have never eaten at either restaurant. Anyone here eaten at both? And is it worth getting the jungle package?

We've eaten at both. Jiko multiple times, always enjoyed it. Tiffins for the first time this past week. Many have reported good things about Tiffins; our experience was not so good. There was a serious misstep with each of our entrees. On my charred prawns, the shells on the tails and heads were burned; I could actually crumble them with my fingers, and the smell permeated the whole dish. DH had the lamb chop, and the mustard greens side had so much vinegar, it overpowered the palate (and I like vinegar). Service was also weak, even though the restaurant was only half full.

On the other hand, probably our favorite hour or so of the whole trip was relaxing in Nomad Lounge, which is attached to Tiffins. We escaped the heat there. The theming is excellent, the drinks imaginative and good, the bread service yummy. And service was excellent. I would return to AK just to have a drink at Nomad Lounge!

With your options, we would go to Nomad Lounge, then head back to Jiko's for dinner. And fit the JB show in only if it's easy to do.

It's only worth getting the Jungle package if you really want to see the show. We did the Tiffins package the first weekend it opened and the Jungle Book show is incredibly lackluster. I, personally, would do something other than seeing the show.

I have also eaten at both restaurants and have to agree with gzmtlock's post. Nomad Lounge is amazing. The cocktails are definitely some of the best on property and, no matter where you decide to eat, it's a must-do!

I like Jiko's, though it's been hit or miss for us. I think the atmosphere in Jiko's is better than Tiffins. I like the design better and it feels a little more tranquil.

We had incredibly spotty service at Tiffins (the server apparently never put our entree order in and we waited FOREVER for our food. They ended up comping our meal.) The food, however, was REALLY good. I had the soup and the wagyu beef entree (which my DS8 inhaled - I got stuck with his kids' chicken dish!). I'm chalking the service missteps to opening weekend jitters and would definitely give Tiffins another chance.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I would look at the menus and see which appeals more. But definitely stop in to Nomad Lounge!

Love to read this!

I've eaten at both! Love them both, you can't go wrong. Honestly, on the deluxe plan you should do both. For the night out with your husband, I would do Tiffins. The food is awesome and the lounge makes for a great date night. I would bring the whole fam to Jiko another night. We always stay at AKL and love to do a park day followed by Jiko so we can eat close to home. Our kids love the wood fired flatbread there. Do both sometime on your trip!

I personally like both of these restaurants. I have always had a great meal with excellent service at Jiko and remains one of my favorite restaurants in WDW. This past June we did Tiffins with the JB package and were absolutely shocked to see how much we enjoyed it. I went in very reserved and left extremely impressed by the decor, excellent service and equally good food. When we return to WDW both Jiko and Tiffins will be among our ADR's. As for the Jungle Book show; it was a bit of a disappointment for me.
