Jiko or CRT with little ones?

We are planning out our TS credits, and have 2 left each. Thinking of either Jiko or CRT for dinner. Our kids will be 4 and 5.

DH is really wanting to try the food at Jiko (either the ribs or filet), but we're not sure if the atmosphere is too calm and quiet for our little kids? I'd love to try CRT, but would I be missing out on better food at Jiko?

Jiko is calm and quiet. They have a huge wine selection with knowledgable staff for wine pairing; it's a place to go for fine food. We've eaten here frequently and it's always been very quiet.

They do have a children's menu, children are welcome, but it's definitely a quiet place. We enjoy appetizers, wine, etc and our meals are always 2 hours here. If your children are comfortable dining in fine restaurants, they will be okay here.

Another option would be to put them into Simba's Club at AKL while you and your husband enjoy a nice dinner at Jiko. The food is definitely better here than at CRT.

We had no issues dining at Jiko when our children were 3 and 5 at Jiko. Only you can determine if they are able to make it throught a dining experience with some form of interaction. CRT may appeal to you DD, but not sure of DS. Dining in the castle is a unique experience for children..just not sure if DS would want to meet princesses. Another option might be the Hoop-Dee-Doo or Spirit of Aloha dinner shows? They may be 2TS, not sure since we do not do the dining plans.

Take them to Jiko and introduce them to another type of dining. It's Disney so the children are welcome and accommodated. There are always children there!

How are your kids eating in restaurants? If you think they are behaved then by all means take them to Jiko. It's WDW. However, I think your kids would probably love eating in the castle, especially your DD! It is a special experience!
