Jiko or Citrico's for last night?

We're taking another couple with us to Disney in a few weeks. Thought we would treat ourselves our last night to an adult only dinner. I'm torn between going to Jiko or Citrico's for dinner. None of us have ever been to either. On one hand I thought the "wow" factor of the AKL and the atmosphere of Jiko (dark, exotic, etc) would be really enjoyable and different from any other nice restaurant we may dine in at home. On the other hand, I've heard such rave reviews of the food and service at Citrico's that I have a hard time passing that option up as well. It's always reported to be very "adult", but I'm concerned it won't be very different from other fine dining establishments we can enjoy at home.

Which would you choose?

FYI: We've eaten at Flying Fish and loved it. Have also eaten at California Grill and found it to be hit or miss. We've had excellent meals there and just so-so meals there. We're NOT impressed by Coral Reef and found Le Cellier to be just fine but not outstanding.

JIKO hands down! I swear I've eaten there a few times and everytime I say it was the best meal of my life!

I love ethnic food though.

Have not tried Citrico's yet, but I can tell you that Jiko was fantastic! It is on our "must do" list for our next trip. Im sure you will be happy with whichever you choose.

Hi,

As you can see from the posts above, it will be hard to get a consensus. Both Jiko and Citricos are terrific. I suggest you look at both menus and see which one appeals to you more. Enjoy!

We love Jiko's, but when choosing a second signature dining experience to add to our Disney repertoire for our next trip we choose Citricos.

I don't think that you can go wrong either way!

I love questions with no wrong answers. :goodvibes

They are both wonderful places. I'd probably decide based on which one I haven't been to recently. Or perhaps on which is easiest to get to from where ever you are going to be that night. Either way, you won't go wrong.

I've done fairly recent reviews of both Jiko and Citricos.
Both are fine and I don't think you'd be disappointed with either. But I think what you said is probably the deciding factor: There's less chance that you'll find a restaurant like Jiko "back home." Go for something different.

I have been to both many times and am going to both on my trip next month. They are both in my top 5 places at WDW. I won't recommend one over the other, but am sure you will have a great experience whichever one you pick.

Jiko - Jiko - Jiko

It is our only "must do" restaurant at WDW.

Definitely Jiko.

We had a bad experience with Citrico's (the service more than the food), so I'm more than a little biased, but we love love love Jiko. We took my mother to Jiko the last time we took her with us to WDW, and it was hands down her favorite meal of the trip. (She likes it better than Cali Grill, Chefs de France, and even Bistro de Paris. She didn't go with us to V & A.) It was the only place she asked us to make sure we went back to on our upcoming trip.

We were totally blown away by Jiko, it was outstanding

Jiko is our favorite must do on each trip. I have not eaten at Citrico's for years, so I can not really compare recently.
By the way, I think you need to call and try to get an ADR ASAP. Since you are looking for a reservations just a few weeks away, you may have trouble.
Good Luck
