I've been wanting to try the restaurants at AKL for a long time and am definately going to make an ADR there for our upcoming trip.
But now I can't decide on which place. We'd like to eat at either Jiko or Boma and was just wondering what people's impressions or recommendations are.
We're not really looking for or expecting anything in particular with our dining experience here, we just want to try a new place.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Well, they are EQUALLY good but very different. For a first timer, I would try BOMA. It is SOOOOOOO good and everyone in your party will enjoy something!

I would also say Boma. my DH always says..... Boma for the family.... Jiko for the adults.
That's not saying Children can't go to jiko but it does kind of sum it up.

We love JIKO.

We've done Boma as well. It was worth a try but we prefer JIKO. We just like the offerings there better. There was also quite a long line for the hot buffet (at dinner) at Boma as it's quite busy. But, there was always plenty of food as they kept everything filled up. I just wasn't into getting up all of the time and waiting in such a long line for food. Breakfast was different, not as busy and quite good.

JIKO is probably more relaxing since it's not a buffet but we also love the food there too. One of our favorite restaurants in all of WDW!

This is a difficult choice. Both places are good. But they are very different dining experiences. I'd suggest checking the menu's here at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm first.

Some people will find the menu at Jiko to be a little too different for them. If you fit in that category, then Boma would be the better choice since its a buffet and has a very large selection.

We love Boma for breakfasts and Jiko for dinners! (Not on the same day, though............! )

DH and I love them both and go to both each trip. Our adult kids, 6 total including the spouses, would vote 4 for BOMA and 2 for JIKO. So I think you'll be a winner regardless of which one you choose.

Hi,
These are two different experiances. Boma is a buffet and gets very crowded with families with young children. Jiko is more of an upscale dinning environment and is more expensive if you are paying cash and "costs" 2 ts credits if you are on the dinning plan. Boma is only one credit and therefore is more crowded it is also less expensive if you are paying out of pocket.

BOMA....the food is awesome...

I was dissapointed in JIKO....

I have not been to Boma, but JIKO was hands down the best meal of our recent trip. Definitely try the filet over mac & cheese.
