Jiko or Boma?

Of these 2, which one do you prefer? I've viewed the menus...just curious which one you like better and why?:goodvibes

They are both excellent in their own way. It depends on the mood you are in. Boma is louder, has more families and a more energetic atmosphere, and of course, it is a buffet so you will be getting up and down a lot during your meal. If you are in the mood for a more energetic restaurant and to try lots of different types of foods, I'd say go to Boma.

Jiko is very quiet, relaxing (very few children are usually found here) and is more of a place you would go for a relaxing or romantic meal. I'd say if you are going to be tired after visiting the parks, and would prefer to have someone bring you food rather than you keep getting up for more, go to Jiko. You can't lose either way!

Thanks. It's going to be just me and 2 of my DD's because DH is taking the other 2 to EMH at MK. I thought we could eat (at my choice), do the storyteller, and view the animals.;)

These are two very different places. Both are good so you could just decide based on if you want a buffet or a table service meal. You won't be disappointed with either one.

They're polar opposites and can't be compared.

Do you want a family friendly buffet or an upscale table service meal?

Well, I'm not sure. I want something good because DH has to be the pickiest eater on the face of the earth. He is taking the older 2 to EMH. I want to do something fun with the younger 2 (4 & 2). They are pretty well behaved in restaurants for their ages. (not the type that get up and wonder...I wouldn't allow) I have to book ADRs for our family based on DH's pickiness. I wanted to go to the storyteller with the younger girls and look at the animals. I also want to be selfish (as selfish as one can be that takes their children to WDW every year) and book a place that I can enjoy without worrying about DH since he won't be there. I;m leaning towards Boma. I've always wanted to eat here...BUT I am worried about going to the buffet with the 2 little ones. Could I request a table near it so if I wanted to run up for 2nds I could go without taking the little ones every time? Is that ridiculous or should I just do something else?

The buffet is set up on one long side of the restaurant. There is plenty of seating within easy sight of it (assuming your kids will let you get up w/o them!). But it is pretty long so if you were at one end of the buffet and they were sitting at the other, they wouldn't be directly near you.

I'd think if you ask when you make your ressie for a table near the middle of the buffet, and then ask again when you get there, it shouldn't be a big deal to get a good table location, especially if you have an early ADR. I'd think Boma is more kid-friendly and offers a wider variety of food for you and the kids than Jiko. Plus, personally I wouldn't want to spend that much for a fancy meal like Jiko with just me and the kids. But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Jiko is wonderful, but with 2 young kids, I'd choose Boma. It has really good food in a less sophisticated environment.
