We would really like to eat at and visit the AKL on our next trip to WDW.
So we thought that after visiting AK one day we would have dinner at AKL.

We will have a 8 year old and a 5 year old... who tend to stick to bacics when eating...like, hotdogs, chicken fingers or pasta. ( which by checking out the menus, they would still be able to find at both restaurants)

From your experiences... which did you prefer..and would you think would be better to go to with younger children. Boma or Jiko.
or whose food did you find better?

We just got back from 8 day 7 night trip and went to Boma - it was one of our favourites!!! There is a special section just for kids - mac & cheese, pasta w/ tomato sauce, pita breads etc. I would recommend Boma for sure. :goodvibes

DH and I did both in Oct 08 (reviews in my link) and we did not like Boma dinner at all....I dont like a lot of sweetness or cinnamon in my meats and sides. Jiko was to die for and I cannot wait to go back there again

Jiko is a bit "fancier" and their menu is more exotic. I'd vote for Boma with kids, as it's a buffet with lots of choices to fit most any palates....even kids'!!!

Definitely Boma. There are plenty of kids' items on the buffets, so don't worry that some of the adult food is too exotic for most kids. And the atmosphere is far better for kids than Jiko.

If it were just two adult gourmets, then I'd say try Jiko.

Boma was excellent and my kids (11, 6, and1 1/2 at the time) really enjoyed it. They all found something they liked.

I'm going against the grain here. We didn't really care for BOMA and, with small kids it was a pain. The place was beyond packed and loud and it was crazy trying to get back and forth to the buffet without our kids getting trampled.:headache: Jiko is on my list of possibilities for next trip because I love the AKL atmosphere and the food sounds awesome.

I have never been to Jiko but my kids liked Boma and it's one of mine and DH's favs. The kids even got brave and had things off the kids buffet.

Funny you say that, I don't like sweetness or cinnamon on my food much either. I liked Boma and would return but be wary of all that stuff. My DH and Mom didn't like it at all though and won't go back.
I think Boma is better with kids though because of all the choices! The desserts are really good! And lots of fruit for picky eaters like mine!

I'm with Pperfect... I wouldn't do Boma with kids again. I'm not a fan of buffets to begin with, and that one was the busiest and most cramped we experienced because of the way it is laid out. We really enjoyed the food, but the restaurant was fairly noisy and chaotic, and escorting the littles through the buffet line was a pain.

Thanks so much for all your responses... I really appreciate them.
I'll really have to rethink this and perhaps even leave this ideas until the are a bit older and more willing to try more exotic flavors.

Thank you again... :)
