Hi,

We will be in WDW next week at this time and are very excited! We originally had a dinner one night scheduled at CRTbut have now cancelled that and replaced it with Jiko. We have never eaten here before. Any advice for the restaurant is greatly appreciated. What do you recommend? How is the service? TIA!!!

We ate at Jiko last year! The service was fantastic and the food was my favorite meal of the trip! I had the scallops- they were wonderful. I had the Lemon curd dessert and it was amazing.

The corn crusted fish was delicious as well.

Enjoy!

The filet with the mac and cheese...oh my that thing looks good.

Haven't been there but if I were to go that is what I would get.

You will love it! The filet with mac and cheese really is as good as everyone says. When we ate there in June, they had ostrich on the menu which DH said was out of this world! Be sure to get the pistachio creme brûlée....I had to stop myself from licking the dish clean!

Thanks! I was looking at the lemon dessert. It looks really good.

I was looking at that too. Thanks!

Thanks for the tips. Yeah the filet with mac and cheese is probably what I will get.

Our party of 5 started with Artisan Cheese Selection - Five Goat, Cow and Sheep Cheeses from Around the World and Taste of Africa - Trio of Dips with Assorted Breads and House-made Naan. I was in a Barbecue Beef Short Ribs - with Potato-Mushroom Pavé and Onion-Garlic Sauce mood that night, and they delivered, though this year I'll switch it up and may go for the Maize-crusted Halibut - with Vegetables of the Moment and Tomato-Butter Sauce my wife had.

Service was great. Good S. African wine list, too.

My advice with Jiko: The stranger it sounds, the better it probably tastes. Take advantage of the exotic menu options. You will not be disappointed.

Jiko is one of Disney's finest restaurants.

Thanks! What exactly is the Taste of Africa? It sounds good on the menu but I wasn't sure what the dips were. The BBQ Beef short ribs do sound good!

We loved Jiko. It was our favorite meal of 10 days on the DxDP. If you can, go to the culinary tour at AKL. I think it's around 4:30 every day. It's free and you get to enjoy the Taste of Africa bread and dips. I think we also had a dessert while on the tour, but I cannot remember.

The mussels were so good...and I didn't even know I like mussels! Also, the spice cake dessert was one of the best desserts I've ever had. (Even better than chocolate!)

The service was incredible. You will love it.

I had the wild boar spring rolls, Maize crusted halibut and 3 sisters dessert last week. All was amazing and the wine that they recommended was great. The service was amazing.

We're also booked at Jiko in a few weeks. We're planning on going there straight from Animal Kingdom (by bus) I'm so excited hearing the food descriptions!
Is there a dress code? Are nice shorts and a collar shirt okay for men/boys?
Thanks!
