JIKO help PLEASE !!!!!

looking for pics of Jiko and the food,
also can anyone tell me can u see any animals while there????
thinking about going there w/ my husband for my 35th b-day, we've never eaten there, and all the feedback sounds like this is pretty good, and romantic place!!!!

Sorry, I can't help with the pictures. You can't see animals from Jiko. It's across the hall from Boma. Both are on the lowest level of the resort. We've eaten at Jiko at least twice, might be three times. It's a nice place, usually quiet, at least when we've gone, but we tend to eat early.

We love Jiko!

Unfortunately you cannot see animals from the inside the restaurant as there are no windows. You can go out to the courtyard before or afterwards though to view the animals. They have night vision goggles for night time viewing.

If it's available, I would suggest requesting a table in the wine room which is very intimate. This would be wonderful if you are a wine lover as they have a sommalier who will make suggestions to go with your meal.

Note that the menu does change so try not to fall in love with any of the items you might see or read about since it may not be on the menu when you go.

As others have said, you cannot see animals from Jiko itself (you can see them at Sanaa at Kidani). However, you can really make a night at AKL. The resort is beautiful with a lot to see inside as well as the animals you can see outside (with and without night vision goggles). You can also just grab a drink and sit out by the fire pit for a while which is pretty nice and relaxing.

um, there are windows along one whole side of the restaurant? But, you cannot see the animals. Go to the restaurant review board and search Jiko, you will find pics from dining reports. Here are some of ours from 2 years ago:

Jiko is our favorite WDW restaurant. IME, it will be empty at 5:30 and you should be able to sit wherever you want. The wine room might be the one exception as it frequently is booked by groups in advance.
