We are scheduled for a one week stay at the Yacht Club (YEAH!)the second week of September. It will be our 4th trip to Disney in the past 6 years, so we've been to many of the places to eat mentioned here. BUT, I haven't heard of Jika's, or Disney offering a sunset safari! Can anyone tell me about this? (We've been to Brown Derby, Narc., Victoria and Alberts --ONCE --, Fulton Crab House, most but not quite all of the places in Epcot, the Italian place in MK, Rain Forest Cafe. I'm looking for new spots to try. I think I'd like to try the Spirit of Aloha this time (did Hoop-Dee-Doo), and the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Any advice, experiences, would be appreciated.:bounce:

It's Jiko, you can read more about the menu at www.allearsnet.com. Its' located at Animal Kingdom Lodge and is on my must-eat list next time due to all the great reviews on here.

I am not an expert on the sunrise safari, I think that's the one only conceirge guests can do??? But www.allearsnet.com probably has info on that, too! I always find everything on it... LOL

We enjoy the food at PT alot!

Have you done Ohanas? HIGHLY recommend it - it's been our fave meal yet to the World, DH is still telling people about it =)

Hi,

Jiko is the high end eatery at the AKL p.s. can be made 90days in advance. The Sunset Safari is offered to guests staying on the Concierge level of the AKL and it is a tour of the savannas at the AKL with a wonderful dinner at Jiko afterwards. We have done the Sunset Safari and it is outstanding.

We did the sunset safari with dinner at Jiko afterwards and it was wonderful. Yes, it is only for guests at AKL concierge. But that is just a package. Jiko is open to anyone, just like all WDW restaurants.

I would highly recommend trying Jiko. On our safari dinner, we got to try 4 appitizers, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. They were all wonderful! You may want to arrive before your PS so you have time to wander outside and see the animals. The lodge is very beautiful and well worth the time to look around.

Since you are staying at the Yacht Club, may I suggest the Yachtman's Steakhouse. The food there is very good and the service wonderful. We never miss eating there.

Two other great places near you are Spoodle's and Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. Spoodle's is our favorite restaurant at WDW. Califorina Grill is another place I think you may like.

Thank you all for the recommendations, advice. Now I'm getting excited about it, as departure time gets near. I'll be humming "Its a small world..." soon, much to the dismay of some of the people around me *laugh*.
