We are flying out of JFK in FEB to WDW, we have never been to the airport before and the thought of JFK kinda scares me it;s so HUGE!! We are drving to the city from upstate NY, we got great prices to fly out of the city! $540. rt for 4 people, now I'm thinking it would have worth the exrta money the fly from upstate. Does anyone have any tips for JFK we are flying song? :earboy2:

Thanks,
Tami

Tami, I fly Song out of JFK all the time, not sure what kind of tips you are looking for but JFK is pretty contained by Airlines. Just be more specific and I will help all I can

I guess I wanted to know if it is huge as it seems,? I am also worried about how busy it going to be ( Monday morning on Valentines day 8:00am), the parking also confuses me it seems like you park miles away! This is my first time flying, as well as my daughters, so I guess the whole idea is overwelming! I tought maybe someone new tips of the trade for JFK.

Thanks
Tami

Just a suggestion. If you are driving to JFK, why not park your car at Avistar, they will drop you off right at SONG and pick you up at Song on your return, take you back to your car. Avistar. Com
You can reserve online.

I believe it is Avistarparking.com and you can usually print discount coupons. That is a good way to go ..but are you driving in that morning or the night before because that is a very heavy traffic area after 7am.

You might want to stop to consider how much the parking will cost you vs. leaving from your home. The cost of parking which will run roughly $150 for a week and $150 for a hotel (if you are leaving for the airport the night before) could very well eat up whatever savings you might receive from flying out of JFK.

Here's another vote for Avistar parking at JFK. The prices are very good and they shuttle you right to your terminal. This way you won't be driving around JFK trying to find your way. Finding the Avistar lot is very easy, it's right off the Belt Parkway. They should have a AAA discount too.

If you live in the Albany area, we use Premiere to shuttle us back and fourth to JFK..no way are we driving there, or paying the parking..or leaving our car in their lot..too many stories. They (Premiere) pick you up right across from the baggage area at Albany airport. The only hitch is what time you come back...they won't contract for any plane due in after 5. Our son has to take a cab to the train station since his out of states plane comes in so late ($50) and then him and his wife take the train to Renn ($100 for both). Premierelimo.com $124 each round trip...less if you are on the way...Kingston, New Paltz, etc. Also, until Tuesday, Southwest is also $49 for Jan and Feb (except winter break..all full).
