So far I am planning our trip to DL and San Diego around the 2 days my kids have off for Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 4th and 5th). Does anyone know if the local school districts would have off then, too? I would hate to pick that time assuming crowds would be low, and be in for a rude awakening!

Well - we lived in Northern Ca and never had that holiday off. I'm not positive about so cal though. I would guess not - but hopefully someone from there will chime in!

Thanks, AFMOM. Anyone else know about So. California?

Unless it's a Jewish private school, no, Rosh Hashana isn't a school holiday here in S CA.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! That's just what I wanted to hear! :teeth:

iceskatejen is correct....just like cinco de mayo, chinese new year, etc.., rosh hashana is not considered a major holiday.
