Jewish Apple Cake recipe?

Anyone have a good recipe for Jewish Apple cake? This is one of my husband's favorites and the kids and I want to make one for Father's Day.

Just as an aside -- what is it that makes Jewish Apple cake different from a regular apple cake? I have tons of recipes for regular apple cakes, but my husband says they taste different from Jewish Apple cake. (I don't really care for it, so it's hard for me to judge.) Does it have less sugar?

I can't answer your question about how it's different, as this is the only apple cake recipe I've ever used...other than my Grandmother's applesauce cake. This is a heavy cake - sort of like a pound cake....maybe that's the difference?

Jewish Apple Cake
3 - 5 apples, sliced
5 Tbl sugar
2 Tbl cinnamon
3 c flour
2 c sugar
1 c oil
4 eggs
1/3 c orange juice
2½ tsp vanilla
3 tsp baking powder

Peel & slice apples. Mix 5 tablespoons sugar & cinnamon; set aside. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour half batter in greased tube pan. Arrange half apples on top & sprinkle with half cinnamon mixture. Pour rest of batter into pan, add apples & top with remaining cinnamon mixture. Bake at 350 about 1½ hours.

This looks really yummy. From what I see the main differences are that a) this has actual apples in it and b) is a heavy pound cake type cake baked in a tube where regular applesauce cakes are more like regular cakes.
