Jetty PArk to watch to ships go out??

We will be arriving the night before our cruise on Sunday on the WOnder... has anyone gone to Jetty Park and watched the Magic leave Saturday night. I remember on the wonder looking down at this jetty and waiving to people! I would love to do that on Saturday night so the excitement begins... if so is it easy to get to? I think we just drive towards that direction??? Any help or ideas would be great!

Don't know about the jetty, but we ate at Grills on Saturday night, go there about 4:45, and sure enough we got to see the Magic go by on its way out. Very special, and gave the kids a hint about just how darn big the ships really are!

We also ate at Grills and watched the Wonder leave last year...check out the pics....you can't believe how close the ships are as they pass!!!!

We've gone to Jetty Park twice to watch ships leave from port. We go about 4:00. They do charge for coming into the park though, I think it was $3 (per car, not person) but we felt it was worth it to be able to watch the ships leave.

We've been to Jetty Park twice. The first time, watching the Magic pull out, was AMAZING!! She even sounded her horn right by us!!
The second time, it was FREEZING cold and we were huddled in the car. Not as much fun, but still exciting to see her pull out of port.
This last November the cost had gone up though. It had been $3, now it's $5 unless you are a resident of whatever county that is there.

From Grills, on Saturday night - watching the "other 2 cruise ships" leave the port followed by the Magic was spectacular! IMHO, that was definitely the coolest way to start the vacation!

They played the horn - just about when they passed Grills!

How do you get to Jetty park? My ds and i will be at WDW for the day tomorrow and would like to take a side trip to watch the wonder go out.

You'll need to leave the park by mid-afternoon. It's 65 miles from the park to the port, and the Wonder sails at 5 (although it doesn't pass Jetty Park until closer to 5:30).

Here are my directions from WDW to the port...

But instead of taking the "A" Cruise terminals exit, wait and take the "B" Cruise terminals exit. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and go straight until you see signs for Jetty Park.
