JetBlue Questions

We also love Jetblue-- But sadly we are probably going to fly Delta for our mid-April trip to WDW from NYC. All of their fares are DOUBLE every other airline . We are giving it until the first week in Feb for them to adjust their fares.

:confused3

Oh, did I mention they also serve Dunkin Donuts coffee!

Oh, did I mention you just gave me enough of a reason to book our July trip with Jetblue instead of waiting for those SW fares to come down! :rotfl:

Exclusively use JetBlue for all the reasons everyone has mentioned so far. Between the TV, snacks, free first checked bag, etc, it can't be beat.

A couple of things that haven't been said yet:
- If the TVs on your plane aren't working, or if the set at your seat isn't working, you can call them after the flight and they will issue you a credit. I've gotten a $5 credit a few times in the past. Last month the TVs on the whole plane were out and they told us to call JetBlue to get a credit. I did and got a $15 credit toward future travel. Then a few days later everyone on my flight got an email saying we were all getting a $15 credit. Needless to say, I ended up with $30 in credits.
- A white-knucked flyer ? The TVs serve to be a great distraction during turbulance or a bumpy landing, or to drown out a screaming kid or loud gum chewer.
- I have had a few flights changed on me. It has happened to flights I booked way in advance. I would get an automated phone call or email. It was always just a time change of 10-30 minutes or a different flight number.
- The only delays I've had have been for things beyond the airline's control like weather or congestion at the NYC airports.

FYI - JetBlue travelers....

They are putting in a new reservation system this coming weekend (starting Fr. 1/29). During that time everything must be done at the airport - check-in, etc. You won't be able to book or change flights online or on the phone and no online-check-in. They are expecting long delays at the airport since everyone must do everything at the airport counters those days.

If flying with JetBlue this weekend, check their website for info. And if you need to do something online or by phone, do it before or after this weekend.

Yes, I saw this too. We fly home from BWV on Saturday morning so this will affect me. I'm not thrilled about this, but nothing I can do about it. Glad I know in advance though. I do plan to stop by RAC in the morning to check on the status, but will be prepared to leave the resort an hour earlier than usual to deal with the lines. Wish me luck.

As we live about ninety miles from the airport that Jet Blue flies out from! We had planned on getting the tickets on-line next week! Guess we had better find the extra money this week!!!!

Here is a copy of the email Jetblue sent me explaining in detail about the new reservation system conversion:

Next Friday, January 29, JetBlue will begin transitioning to a new reservation system. Although the new system will allow us to better serve our customers, the conversion is complex. As a result all of our reservations, booking and TrueBlue services will be unavailable from
12 p.m. EST on Friday, January 29 to Saturday afternoon, January 30.

This is how you will be affected during this time:
TrueBlue
You will be unable to access your TrueBlue account, book flights or make any changes to flights on jetblue.com or 1-800-JETBLUE.
TrueBlue points may not appear in your account for up to ten days after you travel.
If you need to book an Award Flight or make changes to your itinerary, please do so before or after this period.
jetblue.com
You will be unable to book flights or make changes to reservations. If your matter is urgent and you need to book a flight or make changes to flights during this period, you can do so only at the airport.
Flight status will be unavailable.
Online check-in will be unavailable.
1-800-JETBLUE
Reservation agents will be unable to book flights or make changes to reservations. If your matter is urgent and you need to book a flight or make changes during this period, you can do so only at the airport.
Airports
Check-in and bag-drop lines will be longer during and immediately after the transition.
We recommend that you arrive at the airport:
two hours before your scheduled departure for domestic flights.
three hours before your scheduled departure for international flights.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this important change to our business systems.

Sincerely,
JetBlue Airways

Oh, they also have hot chocolate which my DD loves!:thumbsup2

How do we feel about Jet Blue?

We've been to WDW several times in the last 5 years or so and most of the trips we took Jet Blue.

On the last trip Dec. 2008 we booked Delta b/c Jet Blue was much more expensive for that trip-like hundreds of dollars difference(it was around the time when oil prices hit the roof in early 2008)

Well, my son who was 7 1/2 at the time said "why aren't we flying Jet Blue? I don't like this airline-next time book Jet Blue." :snooty: :lmao:

I did explain to him that I prefer Jet Blue also, but the price difference was large and then he understood. :teacher:

I work for a major airline, so, I can fly standby anywhere they fly practically for free. We just booked our third trip with Jetblue this year and are planning to book our 4th and 5th in the next 2 months!! We  Jetblue! We love the comfy seats (loove the extra legroom for $25), the tv's and the snack they serve onboard. We were delayed 5 hours and 15 minutes out of MCO last May (got home at 3am), the employees handled the situation pretty good and even hung out at the gate with the passengers telling jokes. A week after I got home, I received an email that due to their customer bill of rights they were giving us a credit for our return ticket $159 each. Having worked in the airline industry for over 19 years, I was absolutely in shock that I didn't have to call or write, they contacted me :upsidedow!

We are flying out this Saturday (30th) and we have recceived a total of 6 emails in the past week warning us about the reservation system change, they have contacted us 6 times!! I'm sorry, but, the airline I work for would probably call the passenger once and be done.

They made a Jetblue lover out of me, just don't tell my boss...:rolleyes1
