We're supposed to fly in Monday AM. Dose anyone have experience with JetBlue fee waivers? Specifically when they might issue the durned thing? AA already has...:confused3

They work last minute by the looks of it, Jetblue issued the waivers for San Juan and region two days ago, and updated the announcement afterwards with new information. Keep an eye on the website or call them. They might have issued the waivers already, but not updated the website yet (also because their website is overloaded and passengers are advised to call)

I called last night and was told no fee waivers yet. After a little pushing, they said they would waive the change fee, but not the fare differences (which were quite large for us). I "chatted" a few hours later and was told there were no updates and they didn't know when there would be an update.

My daughter is booked JetBlue on Tuesday EWR to MCO. Should she just wait to see whether her flight is cancelled or rebook for Wednesday?

What is more important to her: To arrive early, or be sure her flight will go?
And how good is she with uncertain situations?

If she needs to be sure of what is going to happen, better call now as she will not be the only one who might want to change and a limited amount of seats. If she waits and her flight does get cancelled it's not a given she will be able to travel on Wednesday.

They told her on online chat that as she has a flex ticket, if the flight is cancelled they will automatically put her on the next flight out and all she has to do is confirm the new flight.

Probably the word 'next' in this context has a flexible meaning. Did they say specifically the 'next' flight out will be the first flight going out of EWR after her original flight, or the next flight with available seats? Which in theory could be a day or two later with all the passengers who planned to travel Saturday-Monday changing their flights.

According to the Weather Channel by Tuesday morning it will have slowed down to 75mph winds, the rain could mess up some flights, but probably less than Monday to Miami.
I personally wouldn't trust the system to work perfectly during conditions like this, but if I would cancel would depend how much time I have and how flexible I can be. When I have a weekend-get-away planned my decision will be different than when I have a 3 week vacation.

The problem is you don't know when the next flight with seats will be.

Yes i agree next flight could be several days later since there will be hundreds of people that will need to be rebooked. If she is proactive now she can secure her seat. If she is flexible and does not mind being stuck for a few days she can wait for JB to make the change for her. Keep in mind she will also need to get a hotel room for the days she is stuck waiting to leave.

Thank you this perspective. So I have bought her a fully refundable ticket for Wednesday morning. Just to leave her with options really.

JetBlue did you issue fee waivers yesterday afternoon. They added airports to the list last night, and expanded the timeframe. Good luck, and be safe!
