I've been sitting on the fence as to fly or drive for our Sept trip. I told DH if I could get the flight for $1300 than we would fly (his preferred method of travel). Well I recieved an email
from Jetblue with a 20% off code so that brought our flight down to $1350. So I took a look at our flight for Dec and Jan that are both paid for they had come down so we phoned Jetblue and they gave us a credit for a total of $411
. So I went through the email they sent and filled out all the info. I picked our seats and they were the only block on the way home that would allow us to sit all together. I get to the check out and try to use DH's MC and it keeps asking for some secure code. Well after three attempts it locks me out
so I try to use a different card at which point a screen pops up saying the seats were availible at the time we started but have since been booked and are no longer availible
. I start all over again and the price is now over $2000 
and when I look at the availible seats we would have to split up to fit. Not only did someone scoop the cheap fare on me but they also booked my seats
. Fit of rage follows and a twenty minute phone call to the bank to set up a secure code that apparently they've implemented over the last two months without telling their customers
. DH and I resolve to drive the 20 hours to get there.
Fast foward to today and there is a message on my machine saying there is a problem with my flight and asking DH to phone back. The worst case scenerio pops into my head. We lowered the fares and ended messing up one of our flights either the Jan for just us or the Dec for 15 of us
. Dh phones back and they day that they need payment for our flight
. So it turns out I was the person I was cursing for taking my seats
. They had our seats all saved and were waiting for our payment of $947
. Now I don't have to worry about rising gas prices, cranky kids (and DH). A two hour drive, a two hour flight and we're there 
.
