I am flying from NYC and the airfare for JetBlue is very high into MCO...about $240 and higher rt. Does anybody know when these fares come down??? I thought they were a discount carrier??? My dates are Aug 10 or 11 and coming home Aug 18 or 19.

You should try to fly on Tuesdays, jetBlue usually have their best prices on Tuesdays. We flew from Burlington,VT to Orlando last August at $79 per tix. But I know the rates have gone up quite a bit since then. But I guess you could get $99 fares on Tuesdays. Check the prices often.

Expensive is still a relative term. I think the days of the $39 and $49 one way fares from the Northeast to FL are behind us, I'm afraid. Between the legacy carriers hemmoraghing money, and the increase in fuel prices, I suspect $220-$250 will probably be the norm for a while.

I'm about to start looking for flights for President's Week 2007, and if I can keep it under $300 I'll be happy.

i agree check tuesdays - i see 79.00 each way fares out of boston and our market has been crazy... :confused3

I booked JB for May for dh and dd, on a Tuesday evening at $79 pp one-way. They canceled the flight, changed it from 7:10 pm non-stop, to 4:55 pm, with a connection at JFK. The price went from $79 to $234, now it's at $199. But there are other flights the same day still at $79, and some of those are still non-stop...go figure.

Generally, it is less to fly out of JFK on JetBlue, it is a hub there. Delta usually less out of JFK and LGA as well. Did you look at Continental out of Newark?

I am flying in August out of JFK on Delta (was Song when I booked). We needed Sunday to Sunday, so I booked early, for about $170 plus tax. Not great, but acceptable.

Every winter I was paying $234 average to fly from Boston to Fort Lauderdale until 2 years ago which I've been getting $177 RT. I have over 150,000 frequent flyer miles I don't use because the airfare is so cheap! Right now Delta is showing $1027 rt for most days in Nov, Dec and Jan. I might just be using those FF miles. ouch!!
