JetBlue - $40. charge for lower fare

I just saw it on the JB website, they will be honoring the lower fare but will be charging $40. to do it.
It was great while it lasted.

That stinks! We were just able to do it without the fee in Nov and were so happy about it. Oh well....

We just took advantage of this at no cost in November, too! When she made the change, the jetblue reservation agent told me that there would be a $10 charge per ticket to honor a lower rate, starting in December. I was happy to make our change before that fee took effect. $10 to me would not have been too bad (worth it for a significant difference in price) but $40! Wow!

Go to JB website, click on the upper right where it says HELP, click on that, then go to the bottom of that page where it says, STILL NEED HELP, click on that, go to the bottom of that page, where it says, NEW FEES EFF. DEC. 4TH.

Thanks for the update.
On Oct 6th, 2007 I had to change my Feb 08 travel dates by one day and they charged me $35 per ticket. Do you know if the date change fees have gone up?

Probably not (but you should probably follow the same instructions above, and make sure).

When JetBlue processes the credit for the lower fare, they actually cancel your reservation and create a new one. So, it's unfortunate but I guess it does make sense that they charge for the transaction. It can still be worthwhile - not for my fare dropping $5, but a lot of times, yeah.

It seems that if you booked a flight prior to December 4th, you will not be charged the $40. fee.
I just called on 3 of my flights (all booked before Dec. 4th) the fares had gone down and was not charged the fee.
