I am scheduled to arrive at Sanford with my 2 children (11 & 15) at 17.25 local time on 15/8/04 for a 2 week holiday. I am not an experienced flyer and I would like to know what our sleeping patterns are likely to be within the first day or so?

For the first few days you will find yourself waking very early...usually around 5am. Take full advantage of this to be at the parks at opening and knock out some big attractions! This doesnt last very long in our family and we are usually fully adjusted by the second full day!

The journey East-West doesnt affect you as badly as going home again, when you can find it takes the children a week or so to recover. The best bet is to try and hold off going to bed when you get home, but wait and go at your normal time.

Good luck!

Hi

I remember waking up on the first full day after getting lost the night before trying to find our villa ( well it was dark! ) and thinking I must have slept until at least 10.00am - it was in fact 5.30 and all the children were already up watching a yoga meditation channel on cable much to their amusement :)

DD ( six at the time ) fell asleep at Race Rock on I Drive that day at 4.00pm face first into her burger! - those of you who have been will know how loud it is there.
The next couple of days were a good time to do a few early visits to parks and have a character breakfast, and as Allie5 says after a couple of days you soon get adjusted, especially as your children are older

Have a great first trip!- we'll be out there at the same time as well.

We usually wake up about 5.30 the first coupleof days. Get up and get ready straight away, get a good breakfast and go early to the parks. We tend to do a water park first as ismore relaxing. The flight home is god awful with the time difference - sorry, but the good news is I'm a teacher so I sill have 2 weeks off after we get back - hurrah!!!!:Pinkbounc

Coming home last month was the worst I've ever been - it took me a week to recover. It was no fun going to bed at 05:30 in the morning and getting up at mid-day.
