Jet Blue opened Spring reservations this AM. They just quoted me $470 to fly to mco this March/ April for 1 seat. I thought they opened with low prices and they gradually rose as seats sold out. I have never seen a Jet Blue ticket from NY for this much!

I thought that the top price seat on JetBlue was $202 (with taxes, etc.) I am flying JetBlue the day before Thanksgiving until November 30th, and am paying $289 RT from NY to FL, which was about $100 LESS than other airlines.

In any event, JetBlue considers themselves a Premium Economy airlines, so their fares generally run higher. I've heard their seats are roomier, and they have better service (a TV at every seat is constantly mentioned). I've never flown them before, so its hard to say.

Exactly what dates are you flying? Is it close to Easter or Passover?

It's definitely Spring Break time. I was just surprised how high they opened up at. I put Delta out of Islip on hold for 24 hrs at $325. a ticket. If it goes down I can always use the vouchers another time. But yuk!!

Have you checked Southwest out of Islip? Everyone is always raving about their fares (and their service)?

They haven't opened the flights from Southwest that include Spring Break. There is also only 1 non-stop. My biggest concern is 3 kids that I would want sitting with me. If they would asssign seats when we purchase I would try them. I would be a wreck until I was on the plane and seated with the kids if I flew Southwest.(Then again, it might be the only "peaceful" flight I ever get!)

Ugh! I let the hold on my airfare from Islip -mco at $325 expire. The same flight is now $1291. per person! Jetblue is $370. Laguardia has a $235 flight but my husband hates that airport. I wonder if he hates it to the tune of 5 grand? Maybe I should move to Texas, those are great airfares!

I have Flown JetBlue. Was it good yes. Not as good as they claim. The tv's are a good thing. The seats are no bigger then any other airline. The only difference is they are leather. Now the price...They are far from a cheap airline I am yet to get a quote for there lowest prices. I looked when they first opened up Oct. The paper was saying 69 each way. The lowest quote I got was $87. I have also looked into Southwest since I live 3 miles from Islip Airport and unless you fly out there special days you don't get cheap airfare from them. I also don't like LGA but at 151 round trip in Oct via Us Scare I mean Air ;). I could not pass it up.

Good luck with the Airfare Hope This Info Helps.

Thanks for the warning! At least I won't be disappointed in November!

As I said, I'm flying JetBlue for several reasons, the primary one being that they were the cheapest for November 21st ($202 OW to West Palm Beach, as opposed to $300 and up on any other airlines.) Also, I refuse to fly out of LaGuardia the day before Thanksgiving. Who knows when I'd finally get to my destination.

I thought Islip would be more competitive than JFK or LGA. Oh well. I live too far away from Islip to consider it an option (over an hour, and I don't drive).
