My mom is going on Jet Blue next week and was told that sandwiches can be brought on board. However, they need to be sealed. Does anyone know what exactly they mean? I'm guessing they don't mean in a Ziploc bag.

Thanks!

Well, I'm going to assume that they mean they have to be sealed when they go through security. And that would mean that they just have to be wrapped up well, not just a plain old sandwich in your hand.
Many, many people bring sandwiches on the plane with them. I do it myself. But, it is always wrapped up until I want to eat it.

We take food with us on the plane every trip. We usually wrap everything in Glad Press and Seal since it really seals well and the food stay nice and fresh. We have never had any trouble.

Wow...We see ppl bringing all types of food on the plane and they dont blink an eye. Ive seen ppl wolfing down mc donalds and even curry chicken. They dont check your bags after security bring whatever you like on the plane and get your grub on LOL

I recently copied this from the tsa website. Maybe this is what the person was referring to when they spoke to your mother:

You can bring food through security, but it must go through the X-ray machine. Do NOT bring food to the security checkpoint unwrapped. Food must be wrapped or in a container. Unpeeled natural foods like fruit are okay, but half-eaten fruits must be wrapped.
