Hi Everyone,

Okay, so the 6 months no payments no interest got me and I booked our first flight with Jet Blue. Up until last year we only exclusively flew Southwest out of Providence . We tried AirTran out of Boston a couple of flights last year and liked them fine. We thought the seats were a bit small and weren't thrilled we had to pay to check luggage but we loved the pre-assigned seats.

So, to all you JetBlue flyers let me know the pluses/minuses. Especially those that fly out of Logan. Are there restaurants at that terminal? I believe they are in a whole different terminal than Southwest.

I have heard stories of the tv's not working. That will be a lifesaver for my 3 year old. Does anyone know what channels they get?

Thanks, as always, for your help. :flower3:

I love love love Jet Blue! The TVs get the full range of Direct TV Satellite TV. See http://www.jetblue.com/flying-on-jetblue/onboard/directv.asp

It is rare that a TV doesn't work and chances are if one isn't working the one in the seat next to it will be working -- i.e. you can swap seats with your daughter.

JetBlue is in terminal C (except for international flights) in Boston Logan. Here is a list of the food place in terminal C. http://www.massport.com/logan-airport/inside-airport/Terminals/TerminalC.aspx

Thank you for that link, ancestry. That is AMAZING. Nickelodeon and Animal Planet??? This should be the easiest flight yet. Now, if I can only make getting into Logan as easy as Providence I will be all set.

ccgirl--a 'semi-easy' solution for getting to Logan might be to drive only as far as the Braintree Logan Express, park your car there, and take the bus to the airport. Your DD will ride for free, parking is cheaper than at the airport, and it only takes about 30 minutes or so from Braintree to Logan.

We either fly SW out of PVD or JetBlue out of BOS. This time we booked JB just because we have someone outside the family traveling with us and wanted the assigned seats. LOVE JB for the assigned seats, free luggage and tv's. However... I have been on 2 JB flights in the past where NONE of the tv's on the plane worked so have a backup plan just in case. I have been on like 20 other flights where there was no problem but you never know. When my kids were little, I was really glad I had brought the portable dvd player along on those trips.

Getting to Logan is never as easy as PVD. We have parked in the Logan Economy lot (you have to take a shuttle to the terminal) - that is kind of a pain depending on how much luggage and kids are along, but cheaper than Central Parking. We have taken Logan Express from Braintree, which going in I found to be easy but coming home was confusing because I didn't know the exact spot to be in on the sidewalk outside the terminal and the Logan Express busses from the other lots were also there and there were no signs posted. It kind of seemed to be a free-for-all when the bus pulled in. Also, if the bus was full, I guess you just had to wait an hour for the next one, which caused a last minute panic when I didn't think we were going to make it on the bus and it was already 9pm. Last time we ended up with a limo service, it cost a little more than 9 days parking but less hassle.

You will love JetBlue. PLeny of food options before and after security. The TVs are great and we have been lucky to never have had an issue. I had one issue with one speaker channel not working once, but that was it. The seat space is so much better than Airtran.

Here is the list of channels and usually a kid/family friendly movie as well on each flight.

My DH is not thrilled with the bus. The last time we flew AIrTran out of BOS, we took the bus from one of the Cape commute lots where you parked for free and the bus took us in. THe kids loved it; but for some reason DH didn't. THinking I might try to convince him to try again this year and maybe we can find someone to pick us up on the SUnday we come in. We are going for 10 days.

Great tip. We are giving my DD a touchpad for Christmas and my son has a little videonow player so we will bring both just in case. Our luck doesn't seem to be the best so thanks for noting that. That bus issue sounds like a nightmare and will surely not please my DH.

WOuld you mind PM'ing me the limo place you used? Thinking this could be a great option as we are going for 10 days anyway and it would be a real treat!

Thanks to the links above, I was also reading about the little play area for the kids. I like to get to the airport early so this will be another saver.

ccgirl, I also live on the Cape and have tried lots of ways of getting to Logan....we used to do hotel park and fly til the rates went thru the roof. We are convinced about taking the bus from the Cape directly to Logan, best price, no hassles with luggage and drops us off right in front of JetBlue. My DH loves the bus( I won't go that far) so hopefully you can convince your DH its the way to go.We only fly JetBlue to Orlando now, we are totally spoiled by our experience with them....yes I have had flights with the TV out (which they gave me a credit to my account) and delays just like other airlines but always minimal.

Thanks. Figured I must be missing some deal or something but I guess not. ;) As I mentioned, we usually fly Southwest out of Providence and can get park and fly for $140 for the night with 10 days parking and that includes free breakfast for all of us. I was coming up with $300 for anything close to Logan. I did find a limo that is $140 each way. I am waiting to see if they have availability. Else, it looks like it is the bus for us.

Thanks again for your time everyone. I really appreciate it.

Jetblue is awesome! They allow one free checked bag, free snacks and drinks, and 36 channels of DirectTV. Have a great flight!

We love jetBlue too but their fares are getting worse and worse. The last 2 flights we had the TVs on hte whole plane had to be reset 3 times which took 45 minutes or so so definitely have a back up plan.

We flew Jetblue to Aruba in September out of terminal C. Loved the tv's. That said Terminal C had the longest security lines I have ever waited in. We arrived at the airport 2hrs before our flight and by the time we got thru security we only had time to grab a quick breakfast sandwich as our flight was already boarding. So I would leave even more than 2 hrs if you like to have a few mins before boarding.

Thanks for the tip. Will be sure to leave extra time. I would rather have to sit there and wait then run to catch our flight.
