Thinking about booking my flights for Sept. on JETBLUE. Never have flown them before..I can save myself over $500.00 if we book with them...

Are your seats assigned?? Any advice or tips would be great...Thanks!!!!!

yes, you choose your seats at time of booking and can change them any time through check-in.

Since bradk already answered your 'seats' question, I'll cover the advice or tips.
You made an excellent choice! JetBlue has 34" to 36" pitch in all its rows, which means the distance from the back of one seat to the back of the seat behind it, at seat level. There are TVs in all the seatbacks. You get unlimited (well, according to a very nice reservationist when I booked) small snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. And you get NICE employees.

We flew Jetblue in Feb/March and didn't really have any problems. As others have posted, assigned seats, friendly staff, good munchies, and TV's! We even got a $25 credit because when we landed in NY they didn't have a gate ready and they made us wait on the plane for about 35 minutes. We got an email a couple of days later telling us they were sorry for the wait and gave us all $25 for a future flight.

:thumbsup2 Another JetBlue fan here. Yes, as other posters have stated, seats are assigned. However, if you are booking on line, you do not get to choose your seat until after your credit card is charged:badpc: , and I ran into a problem with this. It was DD's first ever flight and after paying, I found there were no 2 seats together on the plane. I called a reservationist and they told me they would note this in the computer so when I checked in they would try to re-arrange things, but of course no guarantees. Long story short, a friend of a friend worked for JB and was able to take care of it for me before check in so I was able to rest easy, so I don't know what would have happened if I waited until check in. Now, I call the 800 # before booking on line to check the seating availability, then book on line as it is cheaper. Since you're looking at Sept I'm sure there would be no problem, but just a heads up if you are booking closer to your date. HTH.:)

I'm not so sure about a price difference on JetBlue based on how you book, SomePixiedust. I've always gotten the online price, even when I call to make a reservation.

Where I know there's a difference is, if you change or cancel your flight there's a $30 charge (still WAY better than the legacy airlines) but if you do it online instead of on the phone, you save $5.

There was a $5 difference per person, each way, booking on line vs over the phone and I figured $20 was better off in my pocket (OK, let's face it, it wound up in Disney's pocket :rotfl: ), but this was a while ago, maybe things have changed or it was an internet deal at the time:confused3 In the end, it all worked out, I just make sure to call first and check the seating availability before booking:) Still a JB fan:thumbsup2

I am planning on booking 4 fares BUF-Cancun in 2008 and since I will be paying quite a bit for these flights am wondering how Jetblue is doing financially???

I booked independance air in 2004 and THEN found out that their financial situation was not good.

I really only want to book with an airline that is secure financially from now on.

Any thoughts would be really apprecaited.

Thank you

Another JetBlue fan here! I love the seats and the tv - so did my kids.

We also had a nice little chuckle at the beginning of one of our flights. The captain made his normal announcement and then proceeded to say, "Make sure you roll your windows up all the way cause we're gonna go really, really fast!"

That cracked me up! :lmao:
