jet blue flight questions

just checked flights for 2nd week in dec from buffalo do they ever change the times and add flights. we like non stop with the kids and their times are horrible. flight down leaves at 11;15 am I can deal with that but is later than we would like. flight home leaves at 8am way too early. last may we left at 5pm its like an extra day gained. the flights that leave Orlando go to jfk or bos then buffalo take over 8 hrs total that's crazy for less than a three hr flight. I checked a lot of different days and they are all the same. any advise would be appreciated

I am also very disappointed with JB's new schedule to/ from Buffalo. We love an early departure --6 or 7 am is great for us! And we always book the late direct return flight too. We are going next month. Originally they had 1 direct flight (6:30PM) & they added a second a few months ago (2PM ish). Both of those flights are pretty full too. That is the first time I have seen them add a direct flight after the schedule was released tho, so I don't count on them doing it again.

I am glad we're not going again til January but it is only a short 4 day trip. I might not mind the 2 pm arrival if we had a week, but that's too late for a 4 day trip. Plus I really don't like doing connecting flights in the winter--especially thru NYC. I might book that in better weather, but don't want to risking getting stuck in January. And there's no way I'd book a return flight at 8 AM!!!

JB has been our preferred airline for a long time. But if this schedule holds, it's back to SW for us.

I doubt they will add any additional flights. Changes are possible, but we find that *most* times JB only changes times by 5-20 minutes (nothing that impacts your overall timing in any great degree).

Have you considered flying from Syracuse? We often find that there are better flight times from SYR vs. Buffalo (and sometimes it is the other way around). We love flying from SYR even more than from BUF.....both small, easy-to-navigate, traveller-friendly airports. JB offers a direct flight each day from SYR as well.

just ckecked on Syracuse flight down is even worse. flight back is like 245pm which would be ok.but it is a 4 hr drive vs 1hr 15 minutes to buffalo I don't know what to do I like jb because with 3dds we can be sure we will sit together plus the tvs keep them occupied

Well, there's the 10:46 or so flight with a 51 minute layover in Boston (152 connecting to 1615); or the 1:05 flight with a 99 minute layover (452 connecting to 1915); or the 5:35 flight with a 90 minute layover at JFK (1684 connecting to 702). None of those is eight+ hour itineraries. They're 5:11, 6:00, and 5:28, respectively. Or if you really want the extra day feel, stay an extra day. Take that early morning non-stop flight the day after you were planning.

I'm also really disappointed in the flight times out of Buffalo, and I feel like the rates are much higher for November than previously. I was ready to book when they released their flights, but when I saw the prices for my dates, I decided to wait till Southwest released their flights to see how they compare.

I was as well waiting and was disappointed in the flipping of where the circle starts in the BUF/MCO run. Arriving early down and late day back worked. Early back does not for us unless staying over an additional night.

The only advantage I saw was the potential to avoid staying over the night prior (to make getting to the airport in the wee hours easier). Flying direct has great appeal rather than spending 5-7 hours getting back with a layover later the same day.

The one advantage JB changing their schedule had for me was if I was looking to fly back early direct, I could do (and will) WJ out of Toronto (saving 2+ hours of driving each way, the border, parking and accommodation). Factor in the exchange and all the other costs, at $423 direct with WJ to Toronto now makes sense.

We're flying from BUF to MCO 9/9 with a 7:55am direct flight and from MCO back to BUF on 9/16 with a 6:38pm direct flight. I couldn't be happier with the times. Especially because since our return flight is so late we get an extra day at Disney. Round trip we paid $224 pp which I thought was great.

Those are the times currently (we have similar for next month). The schedule for the end of the year through the New Year has this flipped northbound MCO->BUF leave first thing in the morning and the southbound BUF->MCO leave after 11am.

I know what you mean about JB's schedule change!
I was so surprised to see that departing direct AM flight changed to an
evening flight!! Disappointed too.
BUT....they're still the best air deal out there from Syracuse.
Wish Southwest would make it's way to SYR, but as of now, we'll make
Jet Blue work for us.

I booked the quickest 6 AM depature flight and the direct afternoon flight home. Psyched to have our air! p.s. Their prices have risen in a matter of 3 days!
