What's the easiest way to get credit if Jet Blue drops the price on a flight you already booked?

In the past, I have called on the phone. However, by the time I get off hold the cheapest seats may be gone again.

People have posted, "I just went online and did it." How, exactly, did you do it? (Details, please.) I don't want it to look like I'm changing the flight because then there would be a huge service fee.

Normally, I just book for myself. This time I am planning to book for my young nieces as well as myself. Would the credit for each of them go into their own frequent flyer credit bank, or into mine?

I've always had to call. I didn't think you could do it online with Jet Blue. You can with Southwest I believe but I don't think you can with Jet Blue.

I always call and ask for it to be put in one travel bank. Got $40 today!!!!!!!!

Ow dies the credit work? Is it anything like SW where they give u credit x of 6months after the 1 yr

I've always called and I have to say that I've always gotten very pleasant and helpful agents. I've never had to hold (and I fly JB alot). They will put all of the credits into just your travel bank, as I've done this many times. I do like their system better than SW because your credits are good for 1 year from the day you actually get them. Plus you can use them to buy, even if the flight is for after the 1 expiration date, as long as the purchase date is within the timeframe.

When I've done it online, I've gone to Change Flight, choosing the exact same flight configuration that I had and went through the process and received e-mails with the travel credits in one travel account per itinerary.

But how do you make sure you avoid this:
"For JetBlue Nonrefundable Fares, changes or cancellations may be made prior to scheduled departure for a fee of $100 per person plus any applicable difference in airfare." (from the JetBlue website)

I've always called - didn't know there was any other way:confused3. IME, JB has some of the shortest phone wait times amongst the airlines.

I mentioned that the price can go back up while I'm on hold. But I didn't mean to criticize JetBlue for the length of time that I've been on hold. It seems like every time I call to take advantage of a price drop, there's been a snowstorm going on. I'm sure lots of people were calling in due to the weather.

Their system recognizes that you are booking the exact same flight and it processes the credit. I've done this many of times.

Everytime I've tried this it always tell me that I have to pay the change fee. I always stop before the final step being afraid that I am going to be charged because it insists I have to enter a credit card to cover the change fee. I asked an agent about this the last time I called and she also stated that a call is required. <confused> I hate calling and would prefer to do it online. Especially since once you call you lose your bonus online booking points for the flight.

Really you can get a credit with Jetblue? I didn't know I thought it was only SW that did that awesome news!!!!

I have never lost a lower fare while on hold with JB...and I've callled many, many times. You would have to be on the phone, at the very last minute before they raised fares again.....and that doesn't happen often.

I don't like to chance it by doing it online. I much prefer to speak to a person and do it over the phone. Unlike SW, you can't cancel a flight and get that fare put into a credit. If you book with JB, you can get a credit if the fare goes down. But, you have to keep the flight. If you were to cancel the flight, they would credit you for whatever was left after they deducted their $100 or so change fee.
