Hi everyone...I've been looking at this site for a few weeks now and boy have I learned a lot! I'm just at the beginning stages of planning but here goes...
We are getting married on 11/16/2007 @ 2:30 PM at Sea Breeze Point. We originally were doing a big wedding here at home but due to some family drama..mainly my parents divorce we've decided to have a Disney Wedding. Disney definetely hold significance for us....we met in MGM outside of Tower of Terror in November of 2000. He was on his senior trip and I was with a friend of mind. We ended up living 5 minutes from one another and knowing many of the same people...I guess it was fate! We then went off to college together about a year later and I unexpectantly got pregnant....we have now been together for almost 7 years have a beautiful 4 year old daughter and have been living together for 5 years.
On March 3rd ( the day before my bday) I FINALLY got my ring:

It was put in my cookie cake for my bday celebration!! I couldn't believe it but he actually suprised me!! I knew we would get married and our big joke was how he could never suprise me b/c I always figure everything out but he threw me for a loop with that one. ( I really hope the pic posted b/c this is my first time doing this)
So far I've booked Randy Chapman as our photographer...his work is great and Kevin Knox for my officiant. I'm still looking at hair and make up places. I've decided to go with Black & Pink for my wedding colors. My maid of honor will wear a cute black dress possibly w/a pink sash and I have yet to find my dress or my daughters dress.
I am trying not to spend too much money on my DFTW b/c I want to have a reception afterward with about 100 people. After the wedding we are eating at O'Hana's mainly b/c I wanted something kid friendly and rambunctious b/c we are a bunch of loud people :) Since the dessert parties are booked for 11/16 I've learned that Disney is holding a Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom from 7-midnight and I thought that would be PERFECT!!!
I am trying not to stress too much over the wedding b/c I'm stressed enough....I'm in school for nursing and still dealing with the aftermath of the darn Hurricane Katrina...I will post more new information as it comes available and want to thank everyone for such great thoughts and advice :)

I think it is fate that you and your DF met at Disney and now you're having a Disney wedding... it's sometimes funny how things work out like that (even though it can be difficult or dishearting at the time.) I have to say, your ring is gorgeous! Did you help pick it out? What a cute idea to have it in the cookie cake... mmm I could go for some of that right now!

I also love the look of black and pink. I think the colors are really elegant together. Do you have any shades in mind for the pink?

I can't wait to hear more about your planning! Congrats and welcome!!!

I also am in school for nursing and planning my wedding, so I know how you feel! It's stressfull huh!? Sending pixie dust your way, I know that you need it!!!pixiedust:

I love how you guys met that's so cute!!

Congrats and Welcome!!!! :) Very cute idea for the ring! Your DF did a good job. Plus cookie cakes are awesome ;)

Awww your story is so sweet!
I love how the ring was in your cake!! Good luck with your planning. Can't wait to hear more! Maggie

I thought I'd add some pics and a little more to my planning journal. Here is the link to the dress I'm loving at the moment:

I really love this dress but am in sort of a depression b/c I MUST lose weight soon! There's so many diets out there I'm unsure on what works! So far I've eliminated soft drinks and only drink water and Crystal Lite, started walking 30 minutes a day, and am trying very hard to eliminate all sweets. That part is the hardest...I had about 10 M&M's today:sad2:

Here is another pic of my ring...I love it...the other pic is so tiny...and also is a pic of my daughter the Flowergirl, and another pic of me and my DF.

Oh I was also wondering....can we have a cd player at the Escape cake cutting reception so that we can play our song and have our first dance??

Beautiful dress. Beautiful ring. Cute couple and absolutely adorable daughter ! Can't wait to hear more !

Yes, you can bring your own CD player. It is recommended for the outdoor sites if you are not using the violin.

yay for pictures! I love your ring and your daughter is adorable. :)

Here is a link to the flowergirl dress my daughter will be wearing:

My MOH will be wearing a black dress(not sure yet what type) probably the mix and match ones at Davids Bridal. I'm going to try and put a pink sash on that as well.

I'm also in the process of ordering champagne flutes for everyone that are hand painted and bubble wands that match. My design will be a fleur de lis in the center in black with pink and black incorporated as well with our names and date of the wedding. I figured I could decorate the cake table with them and they could also act as a favor to our guests. The website I found this is cmbcrafts.com.

I also saw on the website these bubblewands that she made that had minnie mouses on the actual wand part and was thinking maybe she could change the bow in minnie's hair to pink instead of red and that would be some Disney thrown into the mix.

I'm still unsure of my wedding cake topper...I've been trying to find a cute Fleur De Lis but no luck yet. I'm also considering the white chocolate castle cake topper as well...well that's all for now for me...slowly but surely I'll have everything done!!

what a beautiful family!! and I love how he proposed - quite unique! :goodvibes so far everything looks great ...I really really have to start my PJ!!! in the meantime, I'm loving everyone else's !

Michelle :cloud9:

your ring is beautiful!!

cant wait to see more!!

congrats!!!

Hi everyone...I started a PJ awhile back and haven't really updated anything one it....I have since found my wedding dress and I've got to say it wasn't hard at all. I always thought that I would have to try on a million dresses to be satisfied but that was so not the case. I went to Davids Bridal and I picked out about 7 dresses to try on...the frist dress I put on everyone (including myself) loved! Of course I still tried on the other dresses and there were some that I did like but not like I loved the first one...here is a picture:
http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2801&prodgroup=92

oops sorry for some reason I forgot how to upload pictures but here is the link...

I absolutely love my dress but I am a little nervous because I just recently went for alterations and they made it sooo tight...I'm scared to even gain a pound b/c it might not fit. My daughter (flower girl) also has a really cute dress as well. I would post the pictures but it looks like I'll have to wait until I get home to do that...sorry.
My daughter's dress is white with pick-ups all in the skirt with a pink sash. My MOH is wearing a black dress with a sweetheart top and a-lign skirt with also a pink sash. I can't wait to post the pictures so you all can see. I've also finished buying my veil, shoes, and jewlery. I still need to get my garter and I'm hoping to get a New Orleans Saints one made. Yes I know we're having a really crappy year but after what they did for the city last year I've still gotta love them :)
I'm still looking for jewlery for my daughter and did not want to get it from Davids Bridal b/c it's way overpriced!
As for as welcome bags go I think I'm going to take another route. My DF is a manager at a place called Wine Loft and I was thinking of maybe getting some bottles of wine that are our favorites and maybe wrapping them in some kind of tissue(preferably pink) and I was going to tie a dog bone cookie cutter around it (because I love dogs). It seems like a cute idea in my head but I'm not really sure if it'll work out good.

I've also booked Ana from Beaute Speciale to do my hair/make-up and I've booked CA for my gown steaming. I still have not ordered the tuxedos yet! I'm doing that this wknd and am now going to go with CA for that as well.

At this point I'm honestly ready for the whole wedding thing to be over with. Unfortunatley between my family and DF family there's a lot of family drama and a lot of the planning has not been a "fun" experience for me. Even my shower which will be on Saturday has been a fiasco....to make a long story short...I didn't want to have my shower at a hall so my friends with the help of my DF came up with having the shower at my DF's dad's house. My mom doesn't yet have a house b/c of Hurricane Katrina and my dad offered his house but my parents hate one another and that wouldn't work...so the next best thing was DF's dad. He agreed and my MOH mailed out all the invites....WELL....last wk DF's dad called to say he's been thinking and does not want to have the shower at his house b/c he doesn't want anyone snooping around.....AHHH......so now one week before my shower I have no venue!! Needless to say I cried and eventually came up with the idea to just have the shower at my house b/c none of my friends' houses were big enough....I'm still not thrilled with the idea but I couldn't see cancelling b/c my MOH has worked so hard. So as you can see I'm just ready for all of this to be behind us and to enjoy my time in Disney.
I have still yet to think of what favors I'd like to give out for my wedding...I'm only having a total of 16 ppl including DD,DF, and myself so I want to find something really cute...I am also glad that I didn't go with the white chocolate castle topper I was thinking of going with b/c I've realized that my wedding will be special enough b/c of the location and that I don't need to go overboard on small things like the cake topper....I've really learned a lot about myself during this whole process and am glad that I did. When I get home I will post all of the pictures I have of the dresses and I can't wait for the wedding so I can post some more pics!

Don't let the drama get you too far down! I love all your plans and your daughter is going to be a little princess with her mommy and daddy!!!:goodvibes Let us know how the shower turns out and i pray it will be the start of good things to come :wizard:
